Honestly, I am a ‘nobody’ to be posting this. I am still so new to instagram, and don’t know the background like many of yall. Yet what I do know is that by only being here 2 months I can feel the contention and it doesn’t feel like being unified.

I was deeply humbled by Elder Gilbert’s talk and recommitted to teaching truth with love.

I don’t know how much impact i’ll ever make, nor do I care, but I came on here committed to share the gospel, share light, share my trials and how trials are a GOOD THING, and lastly show my children what it means to follow Christ even when it’s not easy.

Feel free to share, like, comment, repost. Hoping everyone who creates gets a chance to reflect.

I grew up hearing what girls should do to protect boys' thoughts and actions.

I don't think I ever heard anyone tell boys, with confidence, that they were fully capable of governing their own thoughts and actions.

What if we had taught young men self-mastery as a trust we placed in them, instead of a weakness they couldn't achieve and something we made excuses for?

I'm genuinely curious what you think could change.

What, if anything, would you add to the pledge or to church lessons for young men?

(And please, don't say anything about "releasing" women from any responsibility or letting women "off" scot-free. Women have held this responsibility, that isn't ours to hold alone, for FAR too long. That's why we need to flip the script and try something new.)

suicide prevention month may be ending, but caring about people doesn’t end with september. đŸ€

i wanted to end this month by asking a simple question:

what’s one specific thing that helps you keep going when life feels really hard?
the answers i received reminded me that sometimes the things that keep us going aren’t huge or profound. sometimes it’s a person who always calls. a pet waiting for you at home. a song. a prayer. a place you want to visit. something on your calendar you’re excited about. a future you haven’t gotten to yet.

and sometimes, it’s just knowing that today doesn’t have to be forever.
thank you so much to everyone who was willing to be part of this project, whether you sent me a video, wrote something down, shared a little piece of your story, or simply said yes when i asked. i know some of these answers came from deeply personal places, and i don’t take your willingness to share them with me or with everyone watching for granted. đŸ€

i hope this can be a reminder that suicide prevention isn’t just about one month on the calendar. it’s about the way we notice each other, check in, listen, stay connected, and make space for people to be honest about how they’re doing.

and if you’re the person watching this who is struggling right now:
you don’t have to have everything figured out. you don’t have to know how things will get better. you just have to keep going one moment at a time.
i’m really glad you’re here.

call or text 988 if you need someone to talk to. you don’t have to have the right words to reach out.
keep checking on your people.
keep asking the question.
keep making room for honest conversations.

suicide prevention month may be ending.
but caring about people doesn’t end with september. đŸ€
