Honoured to serve as an Asia Taste Advisor for the @chineserestaurantawards 2026, a programme founded in Vancouver in 2008 that has grown into a celebration of Chinese cuisine and the people behind it across Canada, the United States and Asia.

As a Malaysian Chinese of Cantonese and Hokkien descent, I grew up with this food at the family table, and seeing it celebrated on this stage is more than I ever imagined.

Representing Malaysia, this year’s Top 50 Honourees include Restaurant Shu, Xip Wah Lau and Yun House among the Elite 25, alongside Fifty Tales, Gerai Makanan Sai Kee, Hai Kah Lang, Peng Chu, Roothouse by Gen and The Teochew Club among the Essential 25. Throwback to our sharing session at COEX, featuring Rohan from Bar Trigona, Kim Hock from Restaurant au Jardin, and Richard from Cocos Creek Bee, hosted by Nicholas Ng.

The session explored the relationship between farmers and the F&B industry, highlighting challenges faced by local producers, sustainability from an F&B management perspective, and the importance of supporting the ecosystem through local ingredients.

We appreciate everyone who joined us from both within and beyond the industry. We hope the session deepened understanding and look forward to more sharing sessions next time. 🙌🏻
