As ever, I’m recording #handpercussion and #drumkit for a few different people. I don’t use sophisticated gear. Usually just a couple of well positioned mics, plugged into my computer. A pair of earplugs feed a metronomic click track into my head, whilst partially blocking out the row of roaring round the kit. While you read this rambling blurb, you can hear an earlier example of such recordings. #thoughtbubblemusic @t.h.o.u.g.h.t.b.u.b.b.l.e #homerecording #homerecordingstudio by @nick.raybould

Back home and picking up a few threads. First up: My involvement in the #bridgetwisheart fronted improvised outfit IGLU has developed into an actual ’thing’ - and we’re playing next Spring at Glastonbury Psychfest! More names to be added! @phoenixstarfire @gmftpo_official @deviantampsofficial @thekingarthurglastonbury @incubuslovechild @gnob_psych_45 #kozfest @splink.band by @nick.raybould

HERE IT IS!
With thanks to Creepy Crawl Records, I now have a few copies of 'Goatshead II' on vinyl to sell from my Bandcamp site, along with the album in its digital incarnation.

As with the first album (of which I also have a few copies left), this is a solid and noisy telling of tales of Gateshead in a pretty direct manner. Mike Vest doesn't mess about. He laid down all the guitars and bass, in brutal fashion. Pound Land's Adam Stone screamed and howled Mike's words, while I sent splinters of hickory and steam into the air from my drum kit. I'm also rather pleased with the sleeve I designed - and its OBI strip. Order it from Friday 2nd October, 2026 @creepycrawlrecords #vinyl #bandcampfriday #noiserock #grunge #punknoise by @nick.raybould
