Congratulations to Jamarr Malcolm and Conroy Whittaker and the Ministry of Education on your appointment to the National Student Council!

An even bigger congratulations as young men in a time when they don’t see their value and worth, you have risen above.

We are proud of you both. Continue to build and shape the Turks and Caicos Islands, standing at the forefront of national development.

Your leadership matters. Your voice matters. by @nick_mac48

Voices from the Streets Article 69
Support Don’t Judge
By Nixon Dickenson

This week’s Voices from the Streets features a conversation with Lorenzo David Smith, a proud son of the Turks and Caicos Islands, a gifted technician, devoted father, and man of faith. Lorenzo uses his technical expertise to serve others as a Senior Technician at Graceway IGA, while also dedicating himself to his family and sharing God’s love in the community. Lorenzo believes the young men of our islands have tremendous potential, but too often their voices go unheard or are dismissed. He emphasised the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can express themselves without fear of judgment, receive guidance in making positive decisions, and be encouraged to pursue meaningful opportunities. by @nick_mac48

I want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Stanley Taylor and his colleagues at the Department of Correctional Services, Rehabilitation Department Recovering While in Custody Program topic: *"Restoring Family and Community Trust."

Most times we don’t get to see behind the scenes of the work that goes into an effective prevention program.

When our young men are released from prison, let’s do our best to show that it takes a village. It’s not about what I did. It’s about, “How can I not do it again?"

Repairing broken trust takes:
Keep your promises. Listen well. Own your mistakes. Be consistent.

Because it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.

To Mr. Taylor and the entire team: Thank you for your commitment to restoration. by @nick_mac48

Fishing in Legacy
My nephew and I fishing off a wharf locally named Alex Moore Wharf the same spot my grandfather and his great-grandfather used to fish.
The wharf was established during World War II and was used for lookouts and to help with sand erosion.
4 generations Same waters. Same legacy. by @nick_mac48

The North Wells | Established 1888 | Grand Turk

Today our Digital Media Camp visited one of Grand Turk’s most amazing historical sites The North Wells .

There was a time when the island received only 4.5 inches of rain a year. Today we average around 22 inches. Back then, these wells were life.

The journey to the Wells wasn’t just for water. It was where our people came to wash clothes, share the latest town gossip, weather updates, and world news. It was community. It was survival. It was history.

Love seeing our young people learning, filming, and connecting to the land that built us.

2nd Place Strong Man Competition

It was challenging, but it was still fun! Enjoy your life you only get to do this once.

At the same time, take care of your Mind, Body, and Spirit. That’s what real strength looks like.

Special thanks to the Health Promotion & Advocacy Unit, Ministry of Health & Human Services for putting together such a powerful event for Men’s Health Month. Awareness. Prevention. Education.

We showed up, we pushed, and we represented! 🇹🇨 by @nick_mac48

10 years later, and look at that growth. From the little girl at Camp Hype to the young lady standing tall in her school uniform that’s what consistent mentoring, encouragement, and presence does.

We didn’t just take a photo 10 years ago. A seed was planted .

Anyanelly, there’s nothing you _can’t_ do. Stay focused. It’s not just about starting strong it’s about finishing strong, and you’ve got what it takes.

Moments like this remind us why showing up for the next generation matters. by @nick_mac48
