someone stole our cheesesteak!!!!! .............................................................. so about a month ago, a couple of jerks stole the entire installation i helped @southphillyyarnandcraft and @philadelphiadrunkenknitwits put up at the singing fountain on @eastpassyunk. it sucked, but we all pulled together and put up an even bigger, better installation in time for the Flavors on the Ave festival. we even discussed taking it down early to reduce the risk of theft, but ultimately agreed that we trusted the community to look after our work. we'd already planned to take it down this saturday anyway, so we didn't think anyone would have time to mess with it again! but today, some jerk beat us to the punch and stole my darn cheesesteak! disappointing. i had a lot of fun helping put this up, but this is a pretty crummy way to end our run. if you know anyone who might know something, or have a camera that's pointed at the installation, i'd love to hear from you. we're pretty sure it was stolen sometime between the evening of 5/7 and the afternoon of 5/8. if you feel like sharing this, maybe someone will see it who can help. if you help me get it back, i'll make you something cool. either way, here's the piece from conception to completion! taken in The Singing Fountain by @nickberserker

WE BLEED GREEN!

i started this thing like 23 hours before kickoff and boy are my arms tired. i was actually still working on it during the game, and kansas city didn't score a single point the whole time i was stitching 😂

it was a lot of fun seeing how pumped all the @philadelphiaeagles fans were about it, and i was pretty impressed it made it home in one piece!

(if you saw me on the news incoherently yelling "GO BIRDS GO FIBER ARTS", no you didn't)

THERE IS NO LIGHT (so we'll burn in the dark)
crocheted acrylic yarn, 2024

the world has to end sometime! i've been reading "between two fires" and thinking about plagues and knights and curses and swords and doom. how often is hope the thing that twists the knife? how many more of our bodies will it take to satisfy this world's vicious appetite? by @nickberserker
