Yes, we'll be doing it again next season and yes, we're working to get this onto the calendar as an official event so we can bring the rest of you too!!

A peek behind the scenes of our latest installation at the @nmihorg ! Four months of work, including two 7+ hour work days to stitch it all together, went into the project! Huge thanks to everyone who created a piece, added a border, sewed a seam, or got crazy with a steam blocker! 💜 This install was definitely our most labor intensive yet!

Thanks also to @phspopupgardens @oldtowneandsannas and @chatayeethai for keeping us fed while we worked! And to @yarnspirations for the massive infusion of Red Heart Super Saver that allowed us to complete the piece!

We're back!! 🎉

Members of the Philly Drunken Knitwits and the @southphillyyarnandcraft Stitch n Bitch popped up at The Singing Fountain last night to resurrect a local favourite! 🌯🥖🍛🥨🥗🥑🍡🍦

Flavors on the Avenue by @eastpassyunk is this Sunday and our yarnbombing has made a comeback! What a wild ride it's been since we started on this just a year ago!

The art will stay up until Monday, when we will once again launder and pack it away, so head to the festival to see it this weekend!

Oh hey friends!! There are a bunch of protests coming up this week in Canada which feels like a good time for some craftivism. Fibre arts like knitting and crochet are perfect for this, mostly because they take forever. That slowness gives you time to think about why you’re making something, who it’s for, and what kind of world you actually want to live in.

I couldn’t stop thinking about the families and loved ones of Renee Good while I worked on this cover tapestry, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Alex Pretti’s loved ones for days. I have so many more thoughts about this but it’s hard to convey concisely or helpfully here so I will move on to the actual art 🫶

Every artist here has made beautiful patterns with fun details that make them rewarding to work on. Each artist is tagged in the slides so you can check out their work and support their businesses.

We all have a role to play in dismantling fascism in our communities. If you know of other protest or craftivist patterns, please share them in the comments so we can all keep our hands busy!!
