It’s been a week.

Grateful for a very special group of people who’ve made what felt impossible, suddenly feel like we can actually pull this off!

Endless planning, a never ending to do list and a severe lack of sleep has admittedly taken its toll on me & Kate 😅 but at the end of the day, knowing you’ve got a circle of people willing to show up for you, and the thing we share, really makes it worth the effort.

Tomorrow we go again. taken in FitBox Buckshaw Village by @nickfitbox

Some businesses you find. Others you watch grow.

Fitbox is definitely the latter for me.

It’s somewhere I’ve kept coming back to over the years, even while I was living away. Whenever I was back home, I’d find myself training there again.

So for the latest in my series showcasing local businesses and the people behind them, Fitbox felt like an obvious one.

I sat down with founder Nick to hear a little more about where it started, what it actually takes to grow a business like this and where they’re heading next.

Because from the outside, people see the classes, the community, two gyms and another expansion underway.
What they don’t always see is everything happening behind it.

In the space of 24 hours, Nick had been a joiner, electrician, planner and consultant. Just a handful of the hats that come with building and growing something of your own.

But despite how much Fitbox has changed over the years, the reason behind it hasn’t really changed at all.
To create somewhere people feel valued, welcome and like they belong.

I think that’s why I enjoy making these so much.

Behind every local business we drive past, train at, buy from or recommend to somebody else, there’s usually a story most of us never get to hear.

The risks. The decisions. The late nights. The things that go wrong. The different hats. And the person behind it trying to keep the whole thing moving forward.

Those are the stories I want this series to tell.

Thanks Nick and the Fitbox team for letting me stick a camera in front of you and tell a little bit of yours🙌🏼

And with another expansion underway, I have a feeling there’s plenty more of the Fitbox story still to come. taken in FitBox Buckshaw Village by @nickfitbox

Here we go again, FitBox Buckshaw Village expansion 3.0.

In our tenth year of business we never would of believed we’d find ourselves in a unit of this magnitude 🤯

It’s going to be so exciting to turn this space into a gym our community deserves 🩵 taken in FitBox Buckshaw Village by @nickfitbox
