🇫🇷 “Se rincer l’œil” — doesn’t mean rinsing your eye in the shower… 👀💦

In this episode of What the French, I asked tourists to guess what this cheeky expression means.
Hint: it’s all about a bit of skin, and sneaky stares

💬 Think you would’ve guessed it right?
🥐 One chouquette for the right answer!

🎥 Shot in Paris, of course. Thanks @zoeing737 for the illustration

Do YOU fart higher than your butt?
Yep, that’s a real French expression — “péter plus haut que son cul” — and I asked tourists in Paris to guess what it means!

🌱 May 1st in France…
It’s Labor Day — but also Lily of the Valley Day 💐🇫🇷

Here, it’s tradition to give a sprig of lily of the valley (un brin de muguet) to bring happiness and good luck. ✨

I got mine from the French Red Cross, who sell muguet on the streets today to raise funds for their humanitarian work.
It’s a beautiful tradition — and a great way to do something good while keeping it local and meaningful. 🫶

🌼 So if you’re in France today and see a stand like this, don’t hesitate.
You’ll get a little joy, and you’ll help people in need.
