Oh hi!

It's been a minute since I've posted here. Things have been a little crazy and I promise to share more as I work through some stuff.

Until then I want to call attention to Breast Cancer Awareness month. October and breast cancer awareness has always been important to me, but this year it will look a little different for my friends and I.

About two weeks ago I lost my good friend Alex. She was battling breast cancer for the last few years and she was taken way too soon from us. She was only 43.

This has brought up a lot of questions and thoughts for me. It has caused me to look at my life and realize I'm not happy. I want to be living my life while I'm still lucky to have it. I want to be helping others do the same. Things haven't quite worked out like I would have liked but I won't give up.

Alex wouldn't want me to.

I'll continue to push forward because I know she'll always be watching over me and helping me to move towards a life I love - because I'll be helping others. I'm still doing it for me, but I'm not doing it for her too.

I've been a little quiet lately because I've been thinking a lot about my business and what i want to do next. I still don't know but I do think there are some hard truths about entrepreneurship that anyone considering it need to know. (Some of these will be very controversial)

- It can take YEARS to be successful - if you ever have success at all. Some businesses just never take off. It doesn't make you a failure. It just means that maybe this wasn't the right direction to go in (which is quite literally what I'm trying to decide right now).

- It can feel very lonely, even in those so called business support groups on Facebook. Personally, I think those groups are BS. Why? Because most of them are going to be people who post 20 times a day and shamelessly plug themselves and never engage with anyone else. It can feel very self serving and honestly...95% of the time is a waste of energy. You almost never get business from those groups, so what's the point?

- just because you hire a coach doesn't mean it's going to help. You do have to do the work to try and be successful... but it is a TON of work. Expect a full time job on top of any other job you might have to bring in money to pay your bills. Also... some coaches are charlatans and just take your money and don't teach you 💩. Ask me how I know...

- Don't expect your loved ones to support you. This is the one that hurts the most. You cannot rely on your family and friends to share posts or comment or engage on your posts - even when you do that for them. Even when you ask or offer them free things in exchange for reviews... you may get no response at all. Ask me how I know this...

If you're a business owner, what do you wish you had known before you went down that path? And if you disagree with anything I said, go ahead and share. Polite discussion will be entertained. Just remember... this is from my perspective. What you experienced may be very different. by @nicole_will_coaching
