Marathon #5, @lamarathon … what a party 🥳!!! This was the hottest weather (87 degrees) I’d ever run any real distance in and I knew early on in the race that it was not going to be the run I was hoping for. So, I leaned into full party pace mode and had fun for 26.2 miles! 10/10 crowd support and amazing vibes. A great reminder of the joy of running and enjoying the journey 💜 . Also, it was amazing raising funds for the @alzassociation taken in Dodger Stadium by @nicoleafuller

🏃🏾‍♀️💙🗽

I'm running the NYC Marathon @nyrr to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Foundation @parkinsondotorg 🤗

I am running for my grandfather, two uncles, and my patients who have battled against Parkinson's Disease. Their journeys motivate me.

My uncle and grandfather were long-time runners and considerable inspirations in my life. My grandfather, who ran his last marathon in his early 70s, was always among my biggest cheerleaders and advocates.

After learning that three family members were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, including my grandfather, I decided to pursue an advanced specialization in treating those with Parkinson's disease. It has been fascinating to learn and implement neuroplasticity through exercise.

I am ecstatic to represent the Parkinson's Foundation at the New York City Marathon in November!

If you would like support me as I raise awareness and find for the Parkinson’s foundation click the link in my bio or go to www3.parkinson.org/goto/NicolerunsNYC4PD

📍Bologna, Italy 🇮🇹

What an underrated city. I absolutely loved my time here and hated to leave. Bologna is a city for food lovers, 🍝 😋 so I was in heaven. It’s the largest city in the Emilia Romagna region, one of the most prolific food regions in the world producing products like Parmigiano-Reggiano, Modena balsamic vinegar, prosciutto. Besides the incredible food there is also the Asinelli Tower, Piazza Maggiore, Basilica of San Petronio. I met the most hospitable people throughout my trip and there was no tourist feel. If you are ever in Italy, be sure to take a train ride to Bologna for at least a couple days if not more❤️

I rarely post these days but yesterday was was my first in person race since the pandemic started. It was great to get back to all the fun of in-person events. Also it made the fact that I am only 7 week from my first #marathon feel more real than ever! Running has become a vital part of my self care routine. It’s my time to be outside, feel one with nature, my place to just think and be free from any deadlines or obligations. At the end of week 11 of #marathontraining I have learned a lot about myself and about my mental and physical limitations. I have learned more than ever how capable I am of anything I truly believe I can do. That may seem simple, but it took me a long time to believe that about myself, and I still often doubt it. Preparing for my first marathon (in December) may be the most physically demanding thing I have ever done to my body, but it has been the best mental training I have ever experienced. This upcoming weekend I have my first 18 mile long run, and it’s a bit daunting, but I am excited for the challenge. And excited about the journey in the weeks ahead. #mindovermiles #atl10miler #atlantatrackclub taken in Atlantic Station by @nicoleafuller
