Community is a gift & it grows when we show up.

Last month, we sat with community members & local organizations who are doing the quiet, essential work of care & community building. We listened, learned, & shared space— asking how to show up, how to get involved, & how to contribute in meaningful ways.

From the Somerville Homeless Coalition to the Cambridge Elder Services, the Somerville Public Library, Somerville Health & Human Services, Boston Figure Arts Center, & more - each conversation reminded us that community is something we actively participate in.

I know it’s 2026, but we really closed out 2025. First batch of film back from the last few weeks of Night Cap. We raised over $400 in a single night for Somerville Homeless Coalition @shcinc - Thanks for showing up 🫶🏻 💋 ✨

Last week y’all really showed UP. From a singing saw to the smells of Ukraine - we had so much fun.

This week we wrap up Wednesday with local author @laurennditullio giving a talk on her book “When A Soul Walks”, a chat on “b*tches who read” with your local @somervillelibrary librarians, and a comedy power hour with host @thatfunnybishhh and comedians @camohhcomedy @nancymakesjokes @nockel_sandwich @tinypunkrockcomedy and @caroline.berteletti

Thursday we hold one more community open mic, chat the meaning of ‘chosen family’ with @aaron_space_museum from @culturehousecc , @mx.demean0r and @cchhiittoo. Then @antoniomorales_1 reads matt and meg to FILTH before @mattwashere3 and @pegmallis say good f*cking night.

Friday is our last Sip and Sit with @theludo.co and breathwork class with @monarchwellness_ before we Wrap this shit up with a bangin party with @mx.demean0r @math3ca @proswervez @vinylindex @transmascboston @publiclivingroom_boston and @reaganesthermyer .

Pass the Aux is described as a musical mind-melding of participants. The concept is to share music, song by song through genres, styles and feelings to arrive at a common sonic ground between participants. Guided by Callum McPherson, a self described musical fanatic, Cal will administer a group session parsing together communal themes and threads from participants that will continue to evolve past the session. Next on deck…
Wednesday we chat with local literary arts magazine: @quinobequinreview , snack and chat with @bow.market chefs from @vietcitron and @buenasbrand, and close the evening with another @silverscreenqueens_ episode on Black Christmas

Thursday evening we start with a community open mic at 6, chat about spirituality at 7, and close out with a good ‘ole fashion lesson on economics by @technicallyeconomics at 9
•
Friday join in on a Sip and Sit experience with @theludo.co & @virgos.room , retrain your vegus nerve with @monarchwellness_ and pocket party with @sojourn_boston
•
Saturday ends with a cute family recipe swap 6-8pm. Bring a family recipe and post it on our walls. Pens, paper, pins and a copy machine provided. Free as always.
