We love Pop-Ups!

Last week, we did a radio show and “Draw a Stranger” portrait party with @night_cap_cafe ! Our second year collabing with them (throwback to city hall) and we can’t wait for the future!

Fun stuff like this helps us get to know each other and the creative community around us. We’re happy to call Somerville home because of the abundance of inspiration in this city. 🥹

Catch us at the ICA Thursday night for another pop up collab🤩

Who knows, maybe we’ll do Draw a Stranger speed dating at BFAC in 2026👀

❄️December with Monarch Wellness

December invites us into the deepest part of winter’s stillness. Capricorn season begins, carrying themes of grounding, structure, and steadying ourselves after the swirl of late fall. This shift moves us from expansion to preservation, calling us to honor our inner resources and move with intention instead of urgency.

The air grows colder, the winds sharper, and the dryness settles into the lungs and skin. Daylight shortens, and our bodies naturally drift toward softer rhythms. This season asks us to conserve energy, slow down, and anchor into rituals that warm, nourish, and restore. Winter is not only a time of quiet; it is a time of profound recalibration.

This month’s offerings from Monarch will center practices that reflect winter’s elemental needs: warmth, grounding, moisture, and breath. We’ll refine rib expansion, explore gentle back, side, and heart-opening shapes, and settle into triangle shaped postures that support stability during colder months. Katonah Yoga invites us to work with the architecture of the second floor to strengthen structure and mobility without depletion.

Pranayama will focus on lengthened exhales, equal breath, and gentle rib softening to support the lungs through dryness and contraction. Asana will be slow, steady, and supportive, prioritizing grounding over effort and ritual over performance.

December asks us not to push through the darkness, but to soften into it. Let the month be a reminder that rest is not an ending — it is preparation for everything to come.

Restful Rituals: Breathwork for Black Girls & Femmes is a communal breathwork experience rooted in rest, reclamation, and release. This gathering is an invitation to exhale and to return to your body as a sanctuary.

Guided through grounding pranayama, somatic awareness, and vocal liberation, participants are supported in releasing tension, recalibrating the nervous system, and connecting through community based care. This is a space of remembrance, where the breath becomes both medicine and movement.

This practice will offer space for communal pranayama (breathwork) and space for story telling through talking prompts, poetry or short essays. Come to hold space by listening or take space by sharing.
