Thank you Waukesha West Football. From the cold, dark youth practices behind the Waukesha West Stadium to watching the final minutes of my senior season tick away I am filled with sadness. But with that sadness comes a gratitude. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play with my brothers these last 4 years. I am grateful for my parents unwavering support every single step of the way. Finally, I am grateful for the incredibly respectable coaches I have met and had the honor to be coached by. Knowing that I have to say goodbye for the very last time is painful. Knowing that I will never wear a helmet or pads again. Knowing I will never take the field in a West uniform with the brothers I love most. But I am grateful for the ability to say that I have no regrets. That I had nothing left to give. That I had left nothing on the field. Thank you for the best 4 seasons of football of my life. #51 out. by @nik.desouza1

Nik De Souza Powerlifting America Highschool Nationals Meet Recap:

The first thing I have to say is that Nik’s redemption arc has been competed. Nik went 9/9, PRing his total in every lift, despite competing 8 weeks ago and being a multi-sport athlete, playing football while powerlifting. I was nervous to how Nik’s meet was going to go as he had to balance powerlifting and off season workouts, however we trusted the process, allowing him to go 9/9 and PR every lift.

Squat- 170kg/374.9lbs, +10lbs PR
Bench-127.5kg/281lbs, +36lbs PR
Deadlift-202.5kg/446lbs, +31lbs PR

Total: 500kg/1102.5lbs, +77lbs PR

Nationals Is Over…
Feeling incredibly nervous the whole week leading up to my day not knowing if I would possibly bomb out again. @troyboylifts snapped me out of that and got me back into the right mindset. His amazing handling and pep talks and overall support got me through this meet. Hitting 281lb/127.5kg bench PR and 446lb/202.5kg deadlift PR. As well as tying my squat PR and PR’ing my meet total by 75LBS! making it 1101lb/500kg total plus going 9/9 with ALL perfect lifts. Thank you to all of Team Aspire for supporting me in person and tuning into the livestream. As well as my family coming to support me in this amazing circumstance. Plus @hayley.kgs for letting me borrow the SBD belt😁 and @totalflexgym for allowing me to prep at that amazing gym for the last month and a half. That being said, the job is far from done.
