My heart is so full. 2ND IN THE NCAA. What the NAU Women’s team has achieved this season is a reflection of the culture we have worked hard to build. I’ve seen this group grow to hold endless love and accountability for each other. Forever proud and forever grateful for the opportunity to spend everyday with these people. Back to Flagstaff to continue our journey. by @nikita_moore

Aw man, how time flies when you’re truly having the best years of your life. Thank you, NAU for everything. I would choose this team over and over again. I found my best friends, a place where I feel a sense of belonging, and coaches who push us to be better humans. I truly enjoyed every second I spent at NAU, and I’ll spend the rest of my life telling stories from this team. The biggest thing I’m going to miss is just hanging out with my teammates. Thank you NAU XC for being the best thing that ever happened to me and thank you for taking a chance on a kid from across the world.

I’ve been a “runner” basically since I was born. I would say, here’s a letter to my younger self, but tbh, if my younger self knew what I was getting into, she would’ve said hell nah. Your running will be such a journey, well, actually, more of a rollercoaster. You’re going to spend years where training and racing are easy. And then, some years where you can’t even get yourself to run 100m without bawling your eyes out. Some races where it feels like you were born to race, and others where you’re throwing up beforehand from anxiety. But you keep showing up. For yourself and your teammates. It was never outside things, even though sometimes I wanted it to be. It took me a while to realise, BUT I’m so, so, so, so glad I was challenged all those years. I grew up. It forced me to figure out who I was beside it. To stop comparing myself to others, to stop being so insecure and tying my entire identity and wellbeing to how my run went. To also let myself be vulnerable and have a conversation with MYSELF and OTHERS!!! I 10000% wouldn’t have been able to get to that conversation without my coaches and teammates.

I’m really, really excited about whatever this next journey, or rollercoaster in life is. If it involves running, great, and if it doesn’t, great. by @nikita_moore
