v simple edit as I’m teaching myself DaVinci where I try to salvage my old iPhone 7 footage from a trip and transition it smoothly utilizing my shaky camera movement with the original scene of the movie I traveled to Rome for. edit just for funsies. the boat was lucky and the times of day are different (tried to color for that)

part of a two week solo trip to Italy (before grad school started up again for me in 2018) to see filming locations from “Call Me by Your Name” and “The Great Beauty” and travel to four additional cities. Stayed in 5 hostels. Met people I still keep in touch with. I came down the Tiber river to experience what it was like to be Jep for a moment contemplating his mortality amongst astonishing beauty. Had 5% battery for the rest of the day.

The Great Beauty, La Grande Belleza (2013, Dir. Paulo Sorrentino )

Rome has fallen! and the ones who inherited it have nothing important to say, or do; their moral decay set against the luscious and ancient remains. The main character is a Roman socialite who wrote a single successful novel in his youth, giving him access to the social elite, ultimately turning him into a hypocrite who never writes anything worthy again, plunging himself into a world of glittery hedonism. That is until death begins to seep into his fantasy and reality. An existential journey begins.

Cover photo is by me of Pont Sant’Angelo, the location of the credits. Little movie blurb written by moi.

how does one distill a life? even a small one? the thing is you can’t. life is short and long and we do our best to treasure those who make us happy and who we wish to etch smiles onto in return. my sweet little Bella was my friend, family, and companion in life. animals can’t speak or think in the same ways as us and yet they love us so dearly and look to us to take care of them. she will be missed always. Hug ur pets n loved ones man!!!
