As I start a new grant year of directing the @illinoisfilmoffice PA workforce training program, I want to highlight the phenomenal students that I have gotten to interview, teach, and mentor over the last two years.

I am honored to play a role in helping launch the careers of these future trailblazers in the film industry. My knowledge and years of experience in the film industry provided me with the perfect path to where I am now and I look forward to the continued growth to come.

For the last 5 months, I had the pleasure of working at @cinespacestudios on the set of @shothechi in the costumes department.

We were working 60, sometimes 72 hours a week, rain or snow.
I found time for family, violin gigs at @machine_chicago after work, drag gigs, with barely any sleep.

It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my fashion career; being part of the longest running Scripted Black Drama in Premium Cable History, informing the visual aesthetic of Black style in media was truly such an honor.

Ironically, the wrap party was at the cocktail bar I would go play at after my long work weeks, life is funny in that way.
I got to meet so many incredible people, reconnected with my real God sister who worked 2 floors above me; and I broadened my expertise around production, on stage and back stage.

Thank you for everyone who supported me, for all the laughs, and even tears some days 🫶🏽
So much gratitude to a strong mentor and friend @lalavee43 for having me be a part of this experience.
Many thanks and congratulations to @mercedes_cook_ for being a great leader and influence, and designer.
