When I go out to eat, I’m after a certain feeling.

On the surface, we walk in for pasta and grappa or tacos and tequila but really we’re there for human interaction.

A crafted cocktail isn’t just about the taste, it’s about the design and work offered by a person. And it doesn’t have to be a Michelin feast. It can be street food.

There are so many factors. The design of a beautiful bar can give me that feeling. When the owner of the restaurant is still a part of service, I can get that feeling. The place’s history like the longevity of a pub, or if a notable person was a regular can give me that feeling.

Ultimately, my favorite places are the ones where it feels like—no matter how humble or elevated—they’re just having friends over for dinner. That’s that feeling I’m after.

This place would be gorgeous and relaxing even if it wasn’t on a rooftop in Newport Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean. But then there’s the cocktails.

They’re health-inspired. They use ingredients like @vtl.wellness and Nosotros Tequila which is low aldehyde and low to no hangover.
I had Hello Melon—with Nosotros blanco, watermelon, spicy tincture, citrus, and yuzu foam. I also had an espresso martini with Nosotros reposado and that is the only way I drink them now.

Don’t sleep on the food. The skirt steak skewers are worth a trip unto themselves.

They say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels and they’re right. But healthy doesn’t mean food can’t be delicious.
Malibu Farm isn’t just the brunch girl capital of Orange County, gentlemen, it’s also the hot girl capital of Orange County. I think they grow on kombucha cultures here.
If you’re gluten free or paleo or vegan or just appreciate clean ingredients, Malibu Farm does it.
I had a delicious gluten free chicken tortilla salad. Next a vegan coconut curry with more spice and less sweetness which I really liked.
Also their branzino not fried fish tacos w/ jack cheese and cucumber pico de gallo would have been my favorite part if it weren’t for this cocktail.
They use rosé and Nosotros reposado to make a rosé margarita that I’m calling a brosé margarita for the guy who likes a bomb cocktail but still wants to look good in his golf polo.
Come to Malibu Farm. Have a cocktail. And tell them Niko from Nosotros sent you.

You probably didn’t know that there is an amazing restaurant hiding in a hotel at Lido Marina Village.
I came to Lido House to feel good about myself and maybe a little bougie. I wasn’t expecting to find my favorite food in a long time.
This is Mayor’s Table Pacific Pub and Kitchen. I know, that’s a lot of name. But it’s worth typing into maps because the food is next level.
They had me at their pretzel rope which is served with seasonal butter and this unbelievable olive and coconut oil spread. I could have a whole meal of just this but I also had amazing salmon belly sushi, harissa octopus that was cooked to perfection, and a Wagyu burger with cheddar, bacon, garlic, and umami grilled onions that were so crunchy and flavorful that I wanted to eat them by themselves. Also, the fries were amazing.

Get here. If you have too much Nosotros, you can just stay the night. Don’t forget to tell them Niko from Nosotros sent you. by @nikoloya

People who live in downtown Santa Ana kinda don’t want the rest of Orange County to discover how cool it is.

This historic Spanish building dates back to the 1920s and it was a hot spot during prohibition—you know, back when people went out for drinks more than they do now. But guess what, the people who still have a life, they come here.

This is Lola Gaspar. The food is fantastic. The drinks are fantastic. The vibe and people are the best in Orange County. If I don’t get in here at least once a week, I miss it.

Keep an eye out because they’re bringing vinyl nights back as well as intimate chef dinners paired with wine and cocktails.
