The Nilöu Foundation believes in investing in the whole person. Not just their education or their settlement journey but their wellbeing, their joy, and their sense of belonging. On 25th July 2026 we sponsored the South Sudan Football UK tournament in Birmingham and this is what that looked like. Photo dump from the day.

Sport is more than a game. For our community it is where friendships are built, connections are made, and happiness is found. Proud to have sponsored the South Sudan London FC (@thessfauk) tournament in Birmingham and to be investing in the wellbeing of our people. The Nilou Foundation is here for our people on and off the pitch.

We hear these three student finance myths constantly from the South Sudanese students we work with. They stop people from even applying.

Swipe through for the truth behind each one.

Still have questions about your specific situation? Link in bio. We are here.

Happy Independence Day, South Sudan!🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸

This collage is a celebration of what our people have built across the world. On global stages, in sport, TV, fashion, music, and activism. Carrying the weight of a country still healing and still showing up.

At Nilöu Foundation we work with South Sudanese people every day who carry that same energy. People pursuing education, rebuilding their lives, and contributing to the world around them.

No person’s potential should be decided by the displacement they have experienced. Their story is not finished.

To every South Sudanese person building something from wherever they are in the world, this one is for you.

The community we serve deserve to be spoken about with truth.

People who arrived here having been through displacement and conflict, yet the world too often speaks about them without speaking to them.

Visual inspired by the work of @angela_nikolau and @beerkus.

This made our day!

Conditional offer secured. MSc Global Environmental Change. University of Greenwich.

South Sudanese people arrive in this country having left everything behind. For many of them, education is one of the first things they pursue. It gives them something to work towards, a sense of direction, and a real opportunity to build the future they came here for.

We are so proud of them!

A generation of South Sudanese people are being criminalised for seeking safety and most people have no idea.

Share this. Talk about it. The more our community speaks about what is happening, the harder it becomes to ignore.

All credit to @de.criminalize for bringing these cases to light.
