Hot flashes. Ageing parents. Health hiccups. Kids flying the nest. New ventures. And a rapidly declining tolerance for nonsense. At Peakly, we’re not talking about midlife from the sidelines. We’re living it. Figuring it out, stumbling along, reinventing ourselves and learning to spend a lot less energy on things that simply don’t matter. This World Menopause Day, here’s to the mess, the magic and the audacity to start something new at any age. Because midlife isn’t the beginning of the end. It might just be the beginning of something else😍 #WorldMenopauseDay #Peakly #MidlifeUnfiltered #themidlifechapters #women by @ninakler
PEAKLY IS FOR THE WOMAN YOU ARE NOW. Not the woman you were at 25. Not the woman you were expected to become at 40. And certainly not the woman someone else thinks you should be at 50. Welcome to Peakly. There comes a point when the question changes. Not “How do I get back to who I was?” But “Who am I now?” Peakly is for women in midlife who are asking that question, sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, and often while doing seventeen other things. We talk about the things that matter now: relationships, work, money, desire, health, style, friendship, family, identity, purpose, possibility and all the strange, exhilarating, inconvenient things nobody quite prepared us for. We are not here to fix you. We are here for the conversation. Peakly is a space for women in midlife who are figuring out what comes next, what matters now, what they want more of, what they want less of, and what they are finally ready to stop apologising for. We talk about work and purpose, relationships and desire, money and health, style and identity, ageing parents and changing families, friendship, confidence, reinvention, pleasure, possibility and all the messy, funny, complicated things that happen somewhere between “I’ve got this” and “What the hell am I doing?” We believe midlife is not a crisis to be managed. It is a life stage to be lived. Peakly. For whatever comes next. #Peakly #Midlife #WomenInMidlife #MidlifeWomen #TheMidlifeChapters by @ninakler
Sky is skying!!!! 😍😍😍 by @ninakler
Just dropped the offspring at uni. 🥹❤️ My tiny little puppy, who used to follow me everywhere, is suddenly 18 and starting university. When did she grow up??? I’m so ridiculously proud of her. Of the person she’s become, the way she’s grown, and the life she’s about to start. It really does take a village, and she’s had one filled with so much love luckily. ❤️ I remember being 18 and absolutely clueless 😂 So I guess she’ll have to figure some of it out too. Just like the rest of us! Feeling all the feelings today. Mostly pride. And a whole lot of love. ❤️ @gia.kler To them wings baby!! 🥂 by @ninakler
One half of @peakly.life at @allbright Live Well Festival at Old Sessions House London.. There were so many sessions and stages to choose from…the theme.. one of my favourites.. THE LONGEVITY BLUEPRINT A few talks are still sitting with me! I spent the day surrounded by women thinking hard about how we live, connect, and grow through life and came away with more than I expected to carry home. PS ignore my sneakers🤪 I started with heels and then eased into these! #peakly #midlifechapters #women With Nicole Goodwin Joint Managing Director, @allbright everywoman. I resonated so much with the work they are doing for women. Such an enriching space for women to come together to connect, share ideas, and have meaningful conversations about life, work and everything in between. So glad I attended this event! @dr_amachin Anna Machin Evolutionary Anthropologist Female connection isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s one of the most powerful health interventions we have. Her research looks at how our social bonds shape our stress response, our resilience, even how well we age. Not skincare. Not supplements. Not another biohack. Community. She also spoke about how there are different sorts of love and that romantic love doesn’t have to be at the top of the charts! It’s so important to choose your friends.. the elixir to a healthy life! Social batteries are low today with over stimulation.. So make an effort with the ones that light you up❤️ MEET IN PERSON!! Pipa Gordon Ruth Ramsay, Sexual Wellness & Pleasure Coach Isla Wynne Thomas, Co-Founder, GLORIAH an intimate care brand had such a fab conversation on Rethinking Female Desire and How Sex, Intimacy and Connection Evolves over time… The panel women don’t usually get to hear out loud. From actually talking about looking at our own vulvas, to removing the shame some cultures attach to even naming them, to the reality of vaginal dryness in menopause natural or surgically induced and much more, including perimenopause and menopause as just one part of the conversation. But the bigger thread running through it: owning our desire, not just having it happen to us. Women are so used to talking about sex as something that by @ninakler
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book. Yesterday I walked up Marylebone High Street to Daunt Books and bought two. One is a dating comedy of sorts. After years of being single and dating on and off, you’d think I’d have figured it out by now. Apparently, I’m still doing the research. 😂 Had a lovely afternoon. I walked purposefully. And then I sauntered some. Maybe that’s midlife. Still curious. Still researching. Still figuring it out. #NotAnEmptyNest #LifeAfterLaunch @peakly.life #Peakly by @ninakler
After 40 years, I finally met my childhood best friend from Bahrain again, this time in Bristol! ❤️ So darn precious! She knew me before I became “me”. Before all the chapters that shaped me into an adult… When we were just little girls 😁 Can’t believe that we met after literally a lifetime! So happy to have a little piece of my childhood back❤️ @evelynbrowse 🥰 by @ninakler
I’m so happy that my cousin @hitis shared this with me last night! In a few days it will be a year since P left. I am sure he’d want to be remembered like this!! Happy healthy handsome and dancing ❤️☺️ by @ninakler
It’s been a minute☺️ Getting ready for the next phase… #nomoreschoolruns by @ninakler
You ever wondered how actors connect with audiences? Whether you are watching a performance, a film, or even someone speaking on stage..what is it that makes you feel something? I know I’ve always wanted to learn more about being an effective communicator. I attended Stage to Soul this past weekend, facilitated by @vidusshimehra and what stayed with me was that connection doesn’t really begin with performance. It begins with honing the ability to be present, honest, and learning to be a good listener. Allowing conversations and words to breathe more than anything else! Silences and punctuation speak volumes. Through voice work, monologues and breath, the workshop explored how emotion shows up in the body, how pauses can say more than words, and how truth changes the way something is spoken. Somewhere through the evening, the monologues stopped feeling like scripts and started feeling deeply human. We were able to see belly’s rise and fall, sentences land just where they were meant to and relatability ruling the room. It was thoughtful, layered, vulnerable and grounding all at once. Still thinking about parts of it. Can’t wait for her next workshop with this amazing bunch of women 🥰 Special thank you to @gloria_burrett ❤️💫 by @ninakler
Do not miss this fabulous show by @nath.chiara & @siddharthadasstudio at @ojasart What a space! What a show! Each piece will speak to you… It’s on till May 3rd ❤️ “The Space Between”…just go! by @ninakler
@peakly.life is my new baby! A platform for women in Midlife… I was 32 when my marriage ended, far from midlife! But I can tell you this.. it’s never the “Big Bang” that kills you.. it’s the path of thorns that leads you up there that guts you raw.. the little things that add up. Contempt..absence..not showing up..It’s brutal. If you can’t work it out yourselves, therapy is always an option. Worst case scenario part ways.. try pre litigation mediation. Marriages end but there is always a gentler route to exit 🙏 Get @reshare_app • @peakly.life Most marriages do not end with one dramatic betrayal. They end through smaller ones. Emotional absence. Dismissiveness. The slow feeling of no longer being chosen everyday. Affairs often arrive after the distance, not before it. This piece explores the quiet betrayals that erode relationships long before anyone calls it a crisis. Read the full article on Peakly.life.
