An excerpt of “Down There / Feet On The Ground / Up In The Air”
Lyrics by @thomasbblakeley , music & lyrics by me!

Sung by Pilar Lee, Bridget Parker & Malychia Abudu-Clark
Accompanied and conducted by @jakegoodman1
Music direction and supervision by @joconernavarro

Presented in Tisch’s In Fullness Concert, a collaboration between @nycitycenter , @newstudioonbway , and @nyu_tisch_gmtwp , with direction by Kent Gash and choreography by Byron Easley

Through their partnership with City Center, Thomas and I had a chance to talk to three remarkable older New Yorkers at @dorotusa about their memories of 9/11. One had allowed her daughter to take the subway to school alone for the first time that day; one had a sister who was working in a nearby office building; one was a flight attendant whose flight was rerouted from NYC to St. Thomas. We wrote this song about the experiences of witnessing 9/11 from underground, on the street, and up in the sky. Here are the final 90 seconds of it :) Special thanks to @sethlaidlaw and @patricksonoftom for helping organize this! by @ninaosso
