There are some people whose faith, strength and grace leave you in awe — and my beautiful friend Melanie is one of those people.

For more than a year, I have watched her walk through something unimaginable with a level of strength, devotion and godliness that I truly don’t have words for. She has stood beside Joe every single day, advocating for him, believing in him, praying over him and fighting relentlessly for his recovery — all while being an incredible mother to their daughter, Carmela.

Today, she takes that fight public.

Joe has spent his life serving others — as a United States Marine, a firefighter, a coach, and a father. Now, after suffering a catastrophic brain injury, he needs access to the intensive neurological rehabilitation that will give him the best opportunity to continue recovering and, ultimately, come home to his family.

But today I’m asking you to rally around Melanie, too.

Please help us carry some of what she has been carrying. Surround this family with prayer. Share their story. Donate if you are able. Remind Melanie that she does not have to fight this fight alone.

She has shown up for Joe every single day.

Now let’s show up for her. 🤍
