A memorable night on Bowery Street celebrating this monumental Basquiat mural.
An incredible achievement for @par_excellence_nyc and Guillaume Bouchez, who has a talent for making extraordinary things happen while staying behind the scenes.

Étude d’une continuité qui paraît suspendue, dévoilée par la lenteur du présent. 🌞

“With a thousand eyes, the river looked at him, with green ones, with white ones, with crystal ones, with sky-blue ones… He who would understand this water and its secrets, so it seemed to him, would also understand many other things, many secrets, all secrets.” taken in Long Eddy, New York by @ningxiaofan

Raw, unfiltered documentation of my first time playing handpan in public…

Growing up I was always told everything we put forward to the external must be perfect and impressive, or else I am not good enough to deserve to play, or my practice is simply a joke. What, I believe, was meant to spark discipline and excellence instead brewed an excess of fear and self-restriction. Joy and curiosity was lost. This is one of my first steps, as I grow older, to simply play and give for joy. You will still see me flinch as I made a “mistake” — I guess that is part of this journey of embracing the flow and not tense up or reject when it isn’t “perfect” (what even is that at the end of the day?)

Thank you @sew_handpan_school_nyc for showing me this wonderful medium that guides me to play with intuition, my heart and less with thoughts. And thank you @palogastudio for bringing together such an amazing community of humans (and dog!) that held me with so much love, creativity and spontaneity through this ride.

Onto more. ❤️🌞
