Official account for leading trade union NIPSA, championing over 45,000 public sector workers ✊
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Across the South this week, NIPSA officials joined picket lines in support of 300,000 public sector workers taking action for fair pay.

Visiting health, education, local government and emergency service workers, we listened to their stories and heard the growing pressure of rising costs and stagnant wages.

The same challenges are being felt here, where public sector workers are still waiting for their 2026 pay award. No worker should be forced to struggle while delivering the services our communities rely on.

NIPSA, UNISON, GMB and Unite have called on the Education Minister to approve the 3.3% NJC pay award without further delay, warning that workers cannot be left waiting indefinitely for a contractual entitlement.

Today, an email was issued to NIPSA Health and Social Care members to confirm that a ballot for industrial action will begin on 21 October.

We're asking members to stand together to defend:

✅ 2026/27 Pay Award
✅ Pay Reform Parity
✅ Real Living Wage
✅ Safe Staffing
✅ Job Security

These proposals will impact workers, students and communities who rely on affordable, accessible public transport every day.

📅 Friday 9 Oct, 1pm
📍 Grand Central Station (Boyne Bridge Place entrance)

Join NIPSA, @unitetheunionni , @ucuatulster and the Students’ Union in sending a clear message: public transport should be strengthened, not cut.
