Delighted to announce my new book 'Perfect The Way You Are' published by @daffodillane_books and illustrated by @notesonbrush
This book took longer than expected to come to life but it was worth the wait!

In a world where there is too much pressure to fit in and conform, here is a book that reminds young readers (and adults) that it's okay to be different and love yourself the way you are!

Sharing a few of my favourite spreads by Chandrima. Thank you Chandrima for taking my words and adding a new dimension to it with your beautiful work! I love how this collaboration has turned out! Thank you to my editor Daya!

I am grateful for all the love this book has already received. Having done 2 sessions, one at Bengaluru Poetry Festival and the other at Toolo library; I have enjoyed the heartfelt conversations with children and parents alike!

Hope this book reaches many more children who need to know that they are Perfect The Way they are :)

Available at bookstores, amazon.in and at Daffodillanebooks.com

Brihadeshwara temple in Thanjavur. Simply poetry in stone!

No pictures or words can capture this architectural wonder. One simply has to soak it's beauty with the eyes and experience walking inside with bare feet!

Dedicated to Shiva, this temple was built by Raja raja Chola 1 somewhere around 1003 CE. So grateful to get a chance to witness this living piece of history 🙏

Spent a fabulous week at the Kamala Niketan Literature Festival in Trichy.

Shared my books The Tomato Thief, The Tomato Flood and Rocket Champs with several enthusiastic classes of grades 1 & 5. The children had a great time solving the mystery of the missing tomatoes, wading a tomato flood, launching rockets and acing science quizzes.

The highlights were meeting and hanging out with fellow authors @adithiraoauthor and @_lavanyakarthik_ , Pradeep Chakravarty and Karthik Venkatesh, watching my book 'Harvest Day' come alive in the japanese Kamishibai form of storytelling by @storieswithseema and soaking in culture and visiting some fabulous temples in and around Trichy.

Many thanks to the Kamala Niketan School and the fabulous folks at
@@travelling_bookshop for putting together this wonderful Lit Fest and inviting me. by @niyaparikh

Spent a beautiful day in Mysore with the lovely Vidya and Shyam of Funky Rainbow.
Had a wonderful book reading of The Tomato thief & The Tomato Flood at the green oasis of the FR store and a most leisurely and chatty book signing with the children and parents!

Followed by some artisinal chocolate tasting at Naviluna; a writer's pilgrimage to the R.K.Narayan museum where time literally stood still and indulging the sweet tooth at Sapa bakery.

A day in Mysuru felt like time travelling into the past. Walking the beautiful tree lined streets with huge tree canopies that made the city look like a giant park and the old houses whispering stories of the years gone by.

It felt amazing to experience a city with a slow pace and rhythm and no traffic, albeit just for a day! Will have to come back for more! by @niyaparikh

It’s Girl v/s Boy ? Who’s gonna win ?
Or something unexpected is going to happen ?
Can two people who dislike each other work as a team ?
Or will they pull each other down ?

Rocket champs by @niyaparikh is an absolute delight to read with unexpected twists and turns, hilarious moments, unforgettable moments from the school life and competitions and sportsmanship.

A perfect story to keep tweens and teens engrossed till the last page. A lovely story that talks about the amazing school days revolving around friends, enemies, frenemies and teamwork.

The cover design is by Rucha Phadnis and the illustrations are just too good and amazing. The pictures literally add charm to the story.

Thank you @scholasticindia for the opportunity to conduct the session @mount.literaschool with their amazing students.

Such sessions not only encourage children to listen to good stories but also read good books, think well and give wings to their imagination and creativity.

Stay tuned for more updates on such sessions and some awesome book recommendations.

Reminiscing this most wonderful trek in the Himalayas from a few years ago.
A trail so remote, it was just us and our guide and friend, Anand.
We visited some of the most remote villages where the locals welcomed us with love and warmth and fed us the most delicious Pahadi food!

Some trips stay with you for ever! by @niyaparikh
