What if a child’s love for learning matters more than the marks they bring home? In our conversation, author Niyatee Sharma reflects on children who are curious, bright and eager to learn, but who may not fit the way schools expect them to learn. Curiosity needs room to grow. Children need opportunities to explore, experiment and follow questions that interest them, not only prepare for the next test. A useful reminder for parents and teachers, that learning should be about discovery, not just performance. #ThePenKidsReadingLens #podcast [Niyatee Sharma, Indian Authors, Children’s Books, Learning, Parenting Tips, Education Tips, Curious Children] Niyatee Sharma quotes on learning on The Pen Kids Reading Lens by Akancha Tripathi and Ravi Prakash quotes on children quotes on learning maters quotes by Niyatee Sharma on marks and questions

They say a trip is only as good as the people you share it with, the places you discover, and the experiences you take back with you. My visit to the Kamalaniketan Lit Fest had all of that — and then some! Wonderful hosts. Fabulous co-facilitators. Beautiful people. Dream temple runs. Magical storytelling experiences. And moments of laughter, connection and sheer joy tucked in between. Some trips give you photographs. Some give you stories. And some give you both — along with people who become a part of those stories. ❤️ The Kamalaniketan Lit Fest was definitely one of those. Could one ask for more??? #Litfesttales

A little tomato story I got The Tomato Flood for my niece as her birthday present last month. She doesn’t know to read yet, but she has already memorised the whole story and loves telling it to me. Her favourite part is about the tomato plants that keep giving more and more tomatoes—so much so that the family starts making everything with tomatoes! Tomato salad, pasta, soup, dosa, upma, chutney… and then comes the funny thought: What if there is a tomato flood? I loved watching her turn the pages, tell me the story in her own words, and point out her favourite page. Thank you to the author nnd illustrator for creating such a fun, imaginative and delightful book. #TheTomatoFlood #ChildrensBooks #PictureBooks #ReadingWithChildren #LittleReaders BooksAndChildhood Storytime BookLove

Getting to share a beautiful story with a wonderfully receptive audience, brought to life through the amazing art of Kamishibai! And when you get to do it at a Lit Fest, the joy is already special. But having the lovely and much-admired author Niyatee Sharma by your side over the three days makes it twice as wonderful! ❤️ Three days of stories, shared moments, and the joy of storytelling. What more could one ask for? #Storytelling #Loveofbooks #Litfest #Totabooks

It’s Girl v/s Boy ? Who’s gonna win ? Or something unexpected is going to happen ? Can two people who dislike each other work as a team ? Or will they pull each other down ? Rocket champs by @niyaparikh is an absolute delight to read with unexpected twists and turns, hilarious moments, unforgettable moments from the school life and competitions and sportsmanship. A perfect story to keep tweens and teens engrossed till the last page. A lovely story that talks about the amazing school days revolving around friends, enemies, frenemies and teamwork. The cover design is by Rucha Phadnis and the illustrations are just too good and amazing. The pictures literally add charm to the story. Thank you @scholasticindia for the opportunity to conduct the session @mount.literaschool with their amazing students. Such sessions not only encourage children to listen to good stories but also read good books, think well and give wings to their imagination and creativity. Stay tuned for more updates on such sessions and some awesome book recommendations. #storyteller #storytelling #pune #school #kids
