Puddles is a short film written and directed by @benjiryder, co-produced with @candourcreative. Lots of growth for me as the DOP through the process but trusting my preparation and taste when it came to how we wanted everything to feel at the end of the day were the biggest take aways. With the story calling for a grey/rainy day and Mother Nature delivering something different, we needed to get creative and improvise both how we would utilize the available light. Ultimately I leaned into the light and stress of the story by setting the scene from one side and then putting the camera opposite to allow better use of the sun as we rolled. Big thanks to @njc_colour for really dialing in the grade.
