🌿 JUNGLE JUNK — Solo Exhibition by Neill Catangay

I’m excited to announce my upcoming solo exhibition, JUNGLE JUNK, opening this October in Hagåtña, Guam at The Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities gallery located in Hagåtña, Guam.

Jungle Junk explores the tension between Guam’s lush natural landscapes and the human debris that accumulates within them—examining our relationship to place, consumption, neglect, and the traces we leave behind.

I’m also honored to share that this exhibition is supported by Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency (CAHA) Fellowship, 2026/2027 cycle.

*as part of my Jungle Junk series, every site that I photograph and created a painting of, I also took a couple pieces of trash from each area and created this sculpture/installation for the exhibition. All these pieces of trash are somewhere painted in the paintings and are present with the viewers in the gallery.

Anything that I painted, I cleaned up or attempted to clean up and documented the process. I also used some of the junk for the sites to create a sculpture for the exhibition.
