POSTS STORIES REELS

Hello everyone!!

I have bittersweet news! I have accepted a new job beginning this month and as a result I will be leaving my workshop at @thevintagehallto ❤️‍🩹

This weekend will be the last weekend I am accepting alterations and repairs at this location, but if you would like to be added to my waitlist please DM me and I will update you once I have moved my equipment home and am able to start things up again.

Thank you all for your support over the last year 🩷 more artwork to come :)

new piece + big news!

I’m very excited that this new untitled quilt and my embroidery work will be showcased at the @gchuvalocentre micro-gallery for the month of December!

The George Chuvalo Neighbourhood Centre opened in May 2019 and provides programming and community-based resources for youth, children, families, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in Toronto’s West End.

60% of all sales of my showcased artwork (and scrunchies!) will be donated directly to GCNC to help fund their programming and I hope many of you will have a chance to check out their location and donate or purchase some of my work.

A little more about the quilt: this piece is deeply personal to me but more importantly it’s a communally created piece of art that had many direct & indirect contributors!

Thank you everyone in this non-exhaustive list and beyond 🥰

30ish hours, thousands of stitches, hundreds of metres of thread and a projector later my @aof_official quilt is complete!!

I started talking about this idea of visualizing music with textiles back in 2024 but it wasn’t until this winter when I visited my friend @aiyanalz in their studio and ran some songs through their oscilloscope that it started to come together. Those patterns inspired the actual quilting visible on the back of the piece, the album cover is pieced together from upcycled textiles from my past projects at @thevintagehallto

thank you @juno.hailey @drawmeamonster @fongkikid @ainsliehamel for being my sounding boards and helping me record the process - reel coming soon ❤️

it’s @afireinside season 🖤🖤🖤

I was 6 when this album came out and didn’t get into AFI until the Miss Murder era when my friend Sarah and I would flop on her bed watch them on much music and play habbo hotel until the middle of the night. so I may not be a dyed-in-the-wool AFI fan but this album rips and what a joy it is to go back and expand your love for an artist in your adult life!!

see you at the show 😌

the memory quilt I started back in May is complete!

the interior rows of each flower are cut from the clothing belonging to my customer’s grandmother, and the yellow and green rows come from secondhand textiles (including some mailed to me by my own grandmother, who had no idea that they would match what I was making!!)

this “grandmother’s flower garden” quilt was machine pieced and hand quilted by yours truly over the summer, it was my first time making such a patchwork heavy quilt and my first time working with y-seams 🫠

We’re back again after our summer break!! It’s time to take your machine out of the back of your closet, dust it off and take it for a spin! No prior experience necessary, we’ll guide you through the fundamentals and demystify your machine with you so that you can feel confident tackling your first project. Don’t have a machine? We’ll have a few available to use in class.

What you’ll learn:

🧡how to thread a machine
🧡how to wind bobbins
🧡common stitches & what they’re used for
🧡troubleshooting tension
🧡tips on getting started with a beginner project
