Bill Makky at his foundry Bedi-Makky Art Foundry @bedimakky in Greenpoint, on 9/4/26 after casting and chasing my “Lady of the Harmonious Planets”. I’ve long been impressed at Bill’s intuitive understanding and respect for his diverse clientele- respect for all who come and for their work.

Her book, AQUABET- which I now have a copy of, proposes , I understand, a language beyond our current alphabet in order for us to grow as a human species- a language that assumes the traits of water… I look forward to reading it!

Several of my working illustrations to my mother’s as yet unpublished story, “The Best Right Something”

My mother’s most well-known story is “Little Gorilla” (by Ruth Bornstein/
Ruth Lercher Bornstein is available wherever books are sold. (Also available in the US in Spanish; published in Japanese in Japan and in Hebrew and Arabic in Israel.)
Many of her other books are also available.

Thank you Greenpoint Cats @greenpoint_cats for helping us rescue and spay the petite “Lady M” summer 2023; the last cat remaining from our Commercial Street Cat Colony.

As a feral kitty we put her in our condo cage at home from where she saw “Mushi” our handsome young cat we rescued from the street in 2018. It was love at first site.

Once out of th cage, she wooed and won him to her side. She is still not tame but she “tamed” him.

Greenpoint Cats is a non profit whose work in TNR and medical treatment for rescues is ongoing. Donations continue to be needed.

My studio will be open for Greenpoint Open Studios (GOS) Sat and Sun May 30 and May 31, ( 12- 6 PM) sculptures, drawings, minute and larger…

1205 Manhattan Ave, 5th flr, #156 in the big ole 19th century brick building by the Newtown Creek,
The Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center (GMDC)

Also open on the 1205 side will be @takeshimiyakawa and @jamesdinerstein —on the 1155 side ( entrance on Commercial street artists including @carriskoczek and @ryszardsemko will be open

Thank you All Street Gallery for including my Migrants in “Handmade Interventions.” ( Last day, Saturday May 9, 77 3rd Street, 1-7 PM
@all.st.nyc ( my miniature sculptures were cast @newyorkcmi in LIC)

My bronze sculptures weren’t the only miniatures- see slide 2. “Chair” (assemblage, found objects) by @ronaldgonzalezstudio Also pictured, “Untitled ( Sleep Paralysis)” by @katrina_slavik
All the works were fascinating interpretations of the theme.

Handmade Interventions is on view through May 9 at All Street Gallery (77 East Third Street).

At a moment when images can be generated, replicated, and circulated at unprecedented speed, Handmade Interventions turns attention to works that insist on the presence of the maker. The exhibition does not frame handwork as nostalgic or anti-technological; instead, it proposes that visible labor functions as a conceptual strategy.
