A meeting of great violins yesterday, backstage in Edinburgh, with Berliner Philharmoniker concertmasters Daishin Kashimoto and Noah Bendix-Balgley, just before our performance at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Daishin and I play on Guarneri “del Gesù” violins that were made around the same time and even from the same slab of wood!
They are the 1744 “Leduc” and “De Beriot”. I wonder how often over the centuries these violins have found themselves in the same room again?
Noah’s Stradivari kept them company!

It was such a beautiful and inspiring experience to perform the Beethoven concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic and Kirill Petrenko! by @noahviolin

One of my favorite concertmaster solos to perform is this one from Richard Strauss' 4 last songs, here with @gianandreanoseda and @berlinphil. What are some of your favorite solos? by @noahviolin

How good (or bad) is the mic from your phone? Here's a comparison between the mic from a Samsung Galaxy S22 vs a Zoom H4N Pro! Which is the phone mic and which is the Zoom mic?

For those who are doing audition tapes, do consider recording with mics instead of just a phone for better sound quality!🎙️ by @noahviolin
