A 2024 survey assessed that over 56% of full-time creative employees were looking to leave their jobs within the year, despite industry instability (https://www.fiverr.com/news/wnw_unhappiness_survey).

You cannot stop being an artist,
but you can forget how artists breathe.
Then, you're in trouble.

After taking the time to curate a new job title that I thought would protect my soul,
I had to start selling.
To immerse myself back in corporate lingo, to get lost in endless AI spinned websites searching for clues on how to make my discourse accessible to their worldview.

Before I noticed what was happening, my lungs were gasping.

Just like Carol Cohn observed in her epic 1987 article: “Sex and Death in the Rational World of Defense Intellectuals,” adapting to a language, technostrategic language in her case, slowly but surely changes the way you think (https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/494362).

Being a Relationship Artist is meaningless if I have to forget what art is in order to sell my services.

So, I am asking you first:

1+ year after painting this to see "mana" ("spiritual authority" (see earlier post for full definition)), I finally get what it's showing me: it's the mixture of love and rage. Helps to own and embrace it.
