THATS A WRAP FOR 2025-2026

On May 8th, we had a fantastic celebration for all the seniors as they step into a new chapter of their lives! Ever since 2023 they have all worked tirelessly and left an indelible mark on this organization. They have lead by example on how to uplift others, be unapologetically themselves, talk courageously about mental health, and make the (now traditional)events we know and love come to life. Thank you for all of the memories and for setting the standard for what No Empty Seats can accomplish!  From flash mobs to fundraising to sharing mental health conversations to benefit concerts to NESgiving to buying merch, we also thank you endlessly for your support of No Empty Seats. None of this would be possible without any of you 💜 by @noemptyseat

We’re back and accepting more NES club chapters for the 2026-2027 academic year!

Hold discussions that destigmatize mental illness and host joyous events that put smiles on other people’s faces!

DM us if you and some friends would like to found a nonprofit chapter and spearhead mental health awareness in fun ways on your college campus! How i get people to open up about mental health

The best advice I’ve ever been told: the last thing you’d ever want to do is make them feel bad about themselves.

Too easily are we fixated on how to fix a person or be a part of the solution. But we need to remember that a whopping majority of the time, we usually just want a shoulder to cry on and get things off our chest. What I’ve learned is the most important process is creating a safe space for them to know they’re not a bad person. When people don’t open up, they usually are holding lots of guilt or shame with what they are going through. Do whatever you can to remove any of that pressure from them:

“I appreciate you telling me all this man, it mustve been really hard…youre totally good dude, wait dont sweat it and we can figure it out together…wait everyone’s been there before, ive actually done that too.”

By creating that safe, non judgmental space, people are more likely to open up more candidly. Not only will they realize they don’t have to go through things alone, but an incredibly large weight will be lifted off their shoulders knowing they won’t be criticized.

And even if they did something wrong, who are we to judge them as friends and loved ones! Even while saying these kind things, we are not absolving them from their faults — but we are showing all the support they deserve as a person we love. I’ve learned it is not my place to be the judge, jury, and executioner in these situations.

Introducing No Empty Seats at Notre Dame! 💚💚💚

We are excited to host joyous events, collaborate with student organizations, and create a safer space to talk about mental health! Together we will ensure that there are no empty seats <3

No Empty Seats is a national mental health nonprofit with 15+ chapters across the country. They’ve helped raise for over $50,000 for student and suicide prevention charities, shared over 2,000+ hours of mental health discussions, spread their heartfelt message to 10,000+ individuals. This past Sunday, we were so fortunate to host 9 chapters at our first national meeting of the 2026-2027 academic year! Featuring Brown, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Binghamton, Cornell, Hobart, and Geneseo!
