So excited to be co-hosting with my dear friend and collaborator Chef @farah_alia_momen for the final @bondhu_basha dinner in the Berkshires 🏔️ . She’s spent 5 years building community through food, and it’s such an honor for @otherwell.us to be part of this closing chapter.

We’ll be celebrating with wines from female winemakers (curated by moi) + dishes pulling from both our Memphis + Bengali roots. Three courses, storytelling, and a little magic when the American South meets Southeast Asia.

Reservations are at capacity , but we’ll leave room for a few walk-ins. Come thru! It’s a quick train ride up🤍

Happy Friday, lovely humans!

I’m so excited to introduce the birth of @otherwell.us … a community centered around alternative wellness through hobbies, play, and connection.

Tonight marks the soft launch at @fabrikcommunity with the very first “Other Hour!” A happy hour where we put that 9–5 up on the shelf and just enjoy ourselves.”

This week’s theme is “What I’m Into.” Expect games, thoughtful conversation prompts, a mini Canva presentation on why I love biking around NYC, and curated cocktails + N/A beverages courtesy of our incredible sponsor @wanderingbarman

Deep thanks to Jaclyn and Gwen for such an inspiring collaboration. The space you’ve built is a true gift.

I’d like to take this time to send my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of TikTok. May you be blessed to connect with those across the world on some other app they develop. In the mean time, here’s proof of life🤭 Still Barbied up. In such gratitude for this next chapter of film, wine and picking things back up that I loved when I was a kiddo. I guess I’ll stop gaf about being perceived. Doechii and K Dot have really helped usher me into that Dawg space that I’ve been tip toeing around the edge of. Xoxo💋

WE UP! 🚀 A few months ago, I made a promise to myself: invest in my wine education.

Today, I’m excited (and honestly still a little in disbelief) to say that I’m officially enrolled in WSET Level 2 at the International Wine Center.

This didn’t happen because I had everything figured out. It happened because a community of people believed in me enough to invest in this next chapter, and I’m incredibly grateful.

For the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing the journey, the study sessions, the tastings, the wins, the challenges, and everything I’m learning along the way. My hope is that this certification deepens the experiences I create through King Roni’s Tasting Table and opens new opportunities to connect people through food, wine, and storytelling.

… yeah, I’m coming for EVERYTHING they said I couldn’t have 😈

Happy Friday! Ummmm, So a few of yall know that I’ve been trying to stay consistent with “The Artist’s Way.” The artists dates have been the most challenging for me. But I’m really proud of this one. I thought to myself, “how can I be truly creative?“ Ah yes! Take some of the kanekalon that’s been in storage for years and create something cute. I’m pretty proud of this Artist Date. So incredibly honored to have experienced such a from-the-heart and consciousness of the diaspora, well… masterpiece. As a Southerner, this felt like soul food/love/dream. Ah yes! It honestly feels like a really good dream I had. Surreal in the best way. Pictures don’t exactly do it justice. Upon arrival, beautiful people sitting in a circle belly laughing with burgundy glasses in what felt like a back of house waiting room,before I knew what the night had to offer I exclaimed, “Oh this is experiential as h*ll!” Thank you @muddystone_ for sharing this experience with me. Didn’t take many photos the first go round. So, I made sure to get a few on the 2nd installment of King Roni’s tasting table. It’s March and the theme was Women of the vine. I think I wanna have it as a mainstay of the series. Thank you to all of the curious darlings who shared space🤍 Merci to all of the female wine producers for making delicious juice. I can’t believe it’s already been a week since our International Women’s Day Coffee Walk. (I promise to be better at recaps🤭)

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the morning in conversation, community, and coffee ☕️

Despite losing an hour to daylight saving time, it was a great turnout. We were lucky to have a beautiful 60° day and found ourselves walking down Tompkins Avenue, also known as “Black Girl Magic Row,” surrounded by incredible Black women-owned businesses.

One of my favorite parts of the morning was hearing about the women who have shaped your lives and getting introduced to new artists, writers, and creatives through each other.

This was the first of many Otherwell gatherings, and I’m already looking forward to the next coffee walk.

I turned 34 a few months ago 🎂 Truly, a trippy experience. Never really envisioned a life past 8th grade… some how we’re here. The top of this year looked very different than this bottom portion and I’m grateful for it all. When I find myself anxious about the future, I have to remember it’s been a long road since 8th grade, North Memphis, Hot Cheetos and cosmic brownies. The advice I might give to my Lil’ self might be, “The road is LONG, winding and brutal sometimes… find the beauty where you can and never stay down when you’re knocked or fall.
