BLOODY WHEELS X GAZA SKATE TEAM
---english version in next pic---

BLOODY WHEELS X GAZA SKATE TEAM

Those who know us know it already: for us roller derby is not only a sport, it goes hand in hand with inclusivity, mutual support, solidarity. And it's to make these words a reality that we happily cooperated whit @socks.with.a.cause and started a fundraising to help @gaza_skate_team and with the occasion put back in production some of their socks that we love. And now we need your help: every pair of socks pre-ordered will support Gaza Skate Team, a sports team on wheels, founded by Rajab Al-Reefi in Gaza city, with the mission of improving the physical and mental well-being of palestinian children and offering them hope and new opportunities through sport.

🛼 For every pair of socks purchased, 10€ will be donated to Gaza Skate Team (the rest of the money will cover production costs). We chose 6 different by @nomadunicorn

So proud to finally be skating wearing these special socks born from a collab that brought together everything I love: solidarity, skate and design!

I couldn’t say no when @marta_camuffi reached out with her vision for this wonderful project! As a roller dance skater herself, she wanted to create skate socks to fundraise for @gaza_skate_team and support the kids in Gaza who learn to skate with them while living under isnoreal occupation and g3n.oc!d.

After a few video calls getting to know each other, learning about her ideas and perfecting every detail, here’s the winner design that brought her vision to life. Beautiful socks designed for roller skaters by roller skaters, supporting a wonderful cause ✨

Huge thanks to:
@marta_camuffi for trusting me with her vision and handling all the logistics 🙌🏽
@socks.with.a.cause for connecting us and bringing our work to life so beautifully in their factory near Bcn 🙌🏽
Everyone who purchased the socks ❤️
@asiajacko for logistics support in NL🙌🏽
@asjdfl for the pics
@free.gaza.circus for on-the-ground support providing food for the kids through the fundraise❤️
@gaza_skate_team for the eternal inspiration and life lessons ❤️✨

Please support @gaza_skate_team through their links in bio! Unfortunately they haven’t been able to skate and teach for months due to isnoreal blocking skateboards and spares to replace their broken ones. Everything they need sits in the West Bank thanks to organisations and donors, but isnoreal won’t allow them into Gaza. Skateboarding and skating are ways to escape from their reality; they bring hope and a feeling of closeness to freedom that they couldn’t experience otherwise. Everyone should be free and have access to simple things like skating. It’s sad and shameful that privileged voices from the skateboarding scene like Tony Hawk haven’t shown any support and solidarity to them.

Illustration inspired by a recent video of Bisan @wizard_bisan1 sharing her excitement about finding a typical Palestinian sweet she used to eat as a child: 'shatawi'. This treasure —as she calls it, is one of the most beloved desserts in Gaza and it's made with a biscuit as the base, white cream on top of it, and a crispy chocolate crust. It was so heartwarming to see her smiling and enjoying this sweet with such a joy while she's been forced to endure displacement, homelessness, scarcity and genocide for more than 7 months.

The images that have been coming out of Gaza and Rafah for the past 7 months are beyond horrific and heartbreaking. Whole generations have been blown up or left with wounds that will haunt them for ever and remind them about the horrors they have been forced to endure for months and years. Entire cities including tent camps, hospitals, mosques, schools, universities, olive trees, industries and the Palestinian rich cultural heritage has been destroyed with the fund and support of the most powerful governments. It feels powerless seeing so much pain and injustice without being able to help. It feels powerless seeing our governments and institutions abusing their power, breaking our human rights and international laws, and applying brutal violence to the students and those who stand up for humanity and are against war.

The illustrations can be downloaded for free from the link in bio of the amazing @flyers_for_falastin
Check them out, they have thousands of powerful posters, colouring pages and stickers from talented artists from around the world.

They are also available in t-shirts, stickers and tote bags from my @threadless , @redbubble @redbubbleartists and @teepublic stores (@nomadunicorn). All my small earnings will be donated to the the people and local fundraisers supplying aid in Palestine. by @nomadunicorn

All 👀 on the freedom flotilla 🇵🇸🍉

These 12 bravest humans aboard the Madleen are getting really close to Gazzzza, and the communication jam has begun. Any harm to the ship or it's crew is a grave violation of international law.
They are risking their lives to #BreakTheSiege and so it’s very important at this moment to tag and call on governments to demand safe passage for the flotilla, and for aid to enter Gazzzza. Learn what you can do via the link in @rimamobarak’s bio.

Follow @gazafreedomflotilla for live updates and share their messages to amplify their call. Click the link in their bio to track Madleen’s real-time location (ATM jammed).

Motion type experiment using after effects for the very first time! 🚀 Got inspired by @cecierlich who shared a tutorial on how to create the effect like, i did for clip #2. There are so many possibilities and I can't stop experimenting! This is a new world of possibilities for a 2D designer and illustrator like me, can't wait to learn more ⚡ Thank you so much for the inspiration and for sharing this tutorial, Ceci! 🙏🏼🙌🏼💙
