@nonagonforest
Nonagon Forest is a collaboration between multidisciplinary artists Federico Focha and EIREEN. Inspired deeply by mysticism and their practice as counselors, their love for exploring existence through symbols, archetypes and mythology comes to life within their music.
Live-loopings of guitar, percussion, flutes and other instruments melt with their voices, making every performance a unique experience.

🕯️In the Garden of Silence 🕯️
@mein.ahorn
2.11

You are invied to remain silent, close your eyes, and connect fully with sound. Two sound meditation concerts will allow you to immerse yourself in your emotions, revisit memories of loved ones who are no longer with you, and reflect on the present. You will be guided to first connect with your breath, and then with your surroundings.

The title “In the Garden of Silence” comes from a poem by Violeta Parra, one of Latin America’s most important singer-songwriters. In her autobiographical poem, she pays tribute to the deceased:

“They take him into captivity
to the earthly prison
they are going to deposit him
in the garden of silence.“

You are encouraged to bring a candle and place it on the altar. You may also bring photos, flowers, or other personal items that symbolize loved ones who have passed, contributing to a ritual dedicated to honoring the deceased.

The first concert, performed by XIVIS (@salvador_burrell_f & @sophisticatzo), and the second, by Nonagonforest(@nonagonforest), will feature high plateau sound meditations using wind instruments, bird sounds, bowls and wooden instruments, Andean percussion, and typical Latin American folk instruments such as Quena, Zampona, and Qultrum. The performance will be enhanced with a special sound system, creating an immersive sound experience.

The event also celebrates the first anniversary of ahorn Space, we are looking forward to integrate this milestone into the evening’s reflective and communal atmosphere.

⛰️Frequencies imprinted in the geometry of every place, sound can connect us with the memory and wisdom cultivated in the land.
🐍🐆🦅

Here we are at one of the most astonishing sites of Inca heritage. The stones and sounds there truly amaze us!!!

We have taken a break from Berlin to travel to one of our dream destinations: PERU 🇵🇪
🐍🐆🦅
Yes, it is the big Inkan monuments and mountains that impress us... but it is also the small details that we discover each day of our journey.

The magic of the spirit animals meeting us here.
The conversations emerging within the change of frequency.
The difference in flavors, smells, and ways of living.
The plant teachers that call to us without our seeking.
The humbleness of the land.
The sounds of the languages.

Immersed and embedded within this rich culture, we are discovering that the roots go deeper and beyond of what can be seen on the surface.

The courage of the people throughout history can still be felt nowadays. Those ups and downs that ought to be found in all societies contain the wisdom even when the circumstances have tried to erase it. We feel the struggle and the brilliance with different colors and temperatures, embodied in plants, animals, humans, elements... ⛰️

With gratitude and great respect, we honor these lands and their history as well as their present.

🪐Next to MUSIC we have another shared passion: ASTROLOGY! ✨🌞🌑
It may come as no surprise that we sprinkled a little bit of the cosmos into our name, but actually the meaning of a Nonagon also deeply inspires us again and again. You may wonder what exactly is a “Nonagon”?

Here, Federico describes the beautiful geometry of the 9 and the metaphors it contains.9️⃣

Astrologically, the geometry that celestial bodies form to each other has a profound meaning and impact on the energetic interactions.
It creates dynamics.
It creates life expression.

The nonagon, a 40° angle in the zodiac chart, brings the potential within the seed, to become a whole forest.

With our music, we wish to embody that potential as well.
To sow seeds, to plant trees, to nourish the soul gardens and inspire actions to nourish the physical ones as well. 🌎🌿🌱

⛰️🪶These past weeks, the mountains have been our guides.
As we see far, see clear and taste the heights of being 4000 m above sea level, we are also tryinig to look further into our future.

Who are we as artists? When have we "arrived"?

As our scope widens, we are really feeling how it is to be where we are.
Everywhere, and nowhere.

Sometimes it feels as if we are already living the dream! Artists, astrologers, travelers. we are meeting the beauty of life with every step of the path – and learning to integrate our own shadows along the way...

And other times we feel the gravity of not yet being "successful", "known" or otherwise artistically acknowledged. It is hard not knowing when and how exactly the next money will flow in. How we are able to continue walking our path financially in Berlin. How we are able to truly combine all of our skills and passions to craft something deeply meaningful for the world.

In these times it is beautiful to meet new people along the way, to be inspired and witnessed by fresh eyes -- and to reconnect with "old" people as well, using fresh eyes, as we have been changed in many
ways during these months of pilgrimage.

But what we always know is that deep in our heart this is our passion, our purpose. We craft sounds, we connect with the divine and we allow the frequencies to become through us.

Being medicine, being melody.✨
We are reaching new heights, and our bodies and souls are aligning with the new wideness that this purpose brings.

We love every moment of discovery and we are in deep trust of what is to come, for us individually, together, and as Nonagon Forest 🎶🎸🪘🙏♥️🌹

It can be scary to expand or change your sound as a musician. Moving out of the comfort zone, feeling like a novice again, the previous identity dissolving to make space for more...

And yet it is so exciting and rewarding!
Using my 5 channel looper makes me feel free to express in so many new ways.
Creating soundscapes I had dreamed of.
Playing around with instruments that were just laying around at home.
Allowing my voice to bring the rhythms.
Learning to jam and improvise in a very new way.

Nonagon Forest was formed at the beginning of 2024 and already we are bursting with gratitude and joy at the creations, collaborations and experiences forming. ❤️🌎🌟🌳

When we play live we meet with the feeling of timelines merging, of sounds reflecting from twin spaces, perception is reconceived by the geometry of music.
The stories spoken are born right there, in the exact moment in which we listen to each other. ☀

❓"So what kind of music do you play?“ the holy grail of an answer as a musician 😂

Let's hear what Federico has to say about it! 👂

Our music is completely improvised.
Each piece is unique and looped right there on the spot.
What connect it all is our passion and connection with symbolism, mythology and the spirits of life. We weave our consciousness with the presence of the space, and so it becomes a meditation - a witnessing - a metaphor - and a medicine...

We are currently working on gathering equipment to record our sessions live! So we can share some of those moments with you all... And to give you a glimpse into the magic ✨💫🙏🔮

🔥Last week we had the pleasure to meet with some friends in the Colombian Mountains. It was a time to reconnect, with them, the land, and the ceremony. Grateful for 2 sacred fires together, for sharing our rituals, sharing our prayers as well as our struggles.

Traveling can be difficult, challenging and unusual... But what stays is the connection to the spirit that we live both here and in Berlin.🪶

These weeks have reminded us of life's mortality, of the power of emotion and how important community is in times of suffering!
And also to share the fruits, the joys, the laughter with each other.

💛🧺🌞🌎🌱
