Travel and art are two of my greatest loves. I even (sometimes) plan trips around specific art events/exhibitions.

I’m very excited to share that in November, I’ll be hosting a group trip to Venice, Italy for the Venice Art Biennial. ✨
It’s no secret that travel, art, and culture are my greatest passions and I’m incredibly happy that my first founder-led journey gets to reflect that.

In 2022, I went to La Biennale Arte for the first time, the year Simone Leigh became the first Black woman to headline the United States Pavilion. It was not just inspiring but ultimately led me to starting @travelogique , my travel concierge agency. This year, I had to return for “In Minor Keys”, curated by the late Koyo Kouoh- the first Black woman ever appointed to curate the Biennale.

This six-day cultural immersion anchored by the Olympics of the art world, brings together art, food, music, and the layered beauty and culture of Venice beyond the expected.

This is the first of many group trips to come! DM “Venice” for the trip brochure.

Dirty Flirty 30 🥂. 🎂Beyond excited for this new decade and immensely grateful for life. My motto for my 30s is “I’m living in this moment” because tomorrow is not promised and life is to be lived now.

As I’ve reflected so much this past year, I want to share the most important things learned in my 20s:
1. There’s always a new beginning. So live a thousand lives. Make mistakes, change your mind, start over at any point.
2. Money comes back. Don’t be reckless, but don’t live in fear of spending either. You can always rebuild yourself.
3. You’re not running out of time. You haven’t missed anything. Ignore the pressure of society telling you to meet certain deadline. As long as you’re alive, there’s always a new beginning.
4. Be intentional about living. Don’t just race from goal to goal. Be present. Do the things.  Savor life. I’ve been to over 30 countries before 30. I hot air ballooned over pagodas in Myanmar, hiked Machu Picchu, sailed around the world, fed giraffes in Kenya, ate my way through Italy. At the end of your life, your regrets are about the things you didn’t do. So live.
5. Not everyone is meant to come with you. You’ll lose people you love as you grow and change, and as much as it hurts, it’s a natural part of life. Loving someone doesn’t mean keeping them forever.
6. Take care of your body now. Put the processed sugar down. Move, sleep, hydrate.
7. Say no to perfection. It hinders you from taking risks and living authentically. Give yourself grace. Perfection is boring and means that you have nothing more to learn.
8. Don’t compromise. Your 20s are for you — to discover, learn, and define what you actually want.
9. Let people misunderstand you. Welcome criticism as much as celebration, and don’t take being misunderstood personally. Know that not everyone is supposed to get you, and not everyone aligns with who you are and the journey you’re on.
10. Life is JUST BEGINNING!

I spent the last two months living in Barbados.

I came here initially needing to slow down and find some quiet within myself again.

Spirit brought me here, kind of suddenly, unexpectedly, and effortlessly (I really feel like my grandmother orchestrated this homecoming so I could connect to my maternal lineage). Whenever I need to hear Divine Source, I go to the sea. And in this land, Yemonja’s land, they had a lot to say.

This year demanded a lot from me in ways I didn’t expect. There’s been a lot of disappointment and disillusionment, mostly because I have been out of step with myself. Not being in alignment is painful, and life always finds a way of reminding me who I am.

But in my conscious choice to surrender (something I’ll admit I’ve never been good at), I found myself simply being gently held in this process of unraveling. I’m forever grateful to this beautiful island for giving me the space to find myself, yet again. 🏝️☀️🌊🐟 💛🇧🇧 taken in Barbados by @nonikadara

I hate to have to say goodbye to the best summer I’ve had in a long time. From moving back to Brooklyn, to traveling, to spending time with some of my favorite people.

And as always, so incredibly grateful for my friends who bring so much love and joy into my life. Y’all really had me outside. 🫶🏽✨
