Today, we honour the legacy of a dreamer, a leader, and an advocate for justice who showed us the transformative power of peace.

Dr. King’s vision of a world united by peace and equality continues to inspire us to take action. His memory reminds us that peace is not passive — it’s the courageous pursuit of understanding in every endeavour.

His courage inspires us to challenge injustice and his compassion reminds us to lead with love. Change starts with each of us.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, 10 December, marks International Human Rights Day. Today, we celebrate the role of creativity in promoting equality and justice. Art speaks where words sometimes fall short.

We reflect on 40 years of the powerful symbolism of the Knotted Gun — an emblem of non-violence, hope, and the collective desire for a more peaceful world.
We hosted a Statue Painting Workshop to celebrate this anniversary, led by artist @o.senhor, where kids from PRODAC who are involved with @santacasalisboa painted and personalised a knotted gun.

The final piece will be inaugurated later today at the PRODAC building in Marvila, celebrating all that the @nvpfoundation has stood over the last 4 decades, and continues to.

We believe in the power of creativity to inspire change and amplify voices. Let’s honour this day by advocating for a brighter, fairer future for everyone.

Last month, we started building a little book house at the request of our partners from @rede.dubem, which organizes a market that takes place monthly at our neighbours’ venue, @fabricabracodeprata. We’ve just finished the construction, which was carried out sustainably using scraps of furniture and wood that were destined for the bin. The book house now serves as a shelter for books donated by the community, encouraging sharing and reading among everyone.

We are very pleased with the result! If you would like to contribute by donating books or selecting new reads, you can visit the EcoFeira Du Bem Comum tomorrow from 11 a.m. at @fabricabracodeprata. We thank everyone who was part of this project and are thrilled to collaborate with our community in such a creative way!
