Celebrating a year of community, connection, and creative gatherings the way it all started!

Fall Convergence is happening November 1st, from 12-6pm featuring all of the same goodies as usual: music, yoga, workshops, and vendors 🤸‍♀️ The cafe inside will be whipping up the best bagels and coffee in town for us while we play outside. We will be celebrating fall/halloween accordingly, so costumes are encouraged :)

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who makes convergence happen, whether that is with shared posts, donations, attendance, pitching in canopies/chairs, playing music, teaching classes, hosting workshops, or vending; none of this would happen with out you all👊

A special thank you to @groundedalldaycafe @lostfoundlex for giving us a home, @bluegrassbassunit for helping supply the music, and @summerdawnphotos22 for capturing the moments over the past year❤️

Our hope and goal is that Convergence has been a setting thats been able to help facilitate new relationships, creativity, movement, and healing for those in our community, by those in our community!

We will post more info about the costume contest, how/where to donate, and the specific shenanigans we’ll have going on.

Long time no see!!

We’ve missed you guys! It’s been a crazy, hot, busy summer and we’re pumped to finally bring you all the next convergence! 🫵🏻

Sunday, August 9th from 12-6pm we are back in the yard at @groundedalldaycafe for a day full of community, connection, and creativity! ☕️

As always, convergence is and will continue to be a free event to the public. Accessibility and inclusivity are our driving forces for these events. Free entry gets you access to music (silent disco!) yoga, workshops, the community creative space, vendors, and a donation drive all hosted by locals in the community or nearby! 🧘‍♂️

We are thrilled to bring out @tcrutcher98 who is a kynector who will be helping connect individuals in the community directly to needed benefits, resources, and services through KYNECT.🌀

This is a safe and inclusive space for ALL ages, races, sexes, genders, sexual orientations, and physical/mental abilities. We do not welcome or tolerate haters, bigots, misogynist’s, homophobes, racists or the like! 🫂

We will have more info and details about artists, teachers, workshops, vendors and a schedule very soon! Please save the date, tell a friend, and thank you for your patience :) LET US COOK 🧑‍🍳

Special thanks to @filenameingrid for the help on the flyer! Enjoy these pictures from spring convergence taken by @summerdawnphotos22 🫶🏻 taken in Grounded All Day Cafe by @nookthecollective

Alright, so we have an update about spring convergence this Sunday, May 3rd!

Long story short, the city of Lexington and a nosey neighbor or two have reported our event to ABC/zoning authorities…The zoning of @groundedalldaycafe apparently does not allow events with live music or “amplified music” (not their fault) even though we have done this before in the past. Doing so can result in hefty fines. Variance can be applied for but it’s a costly, lengthy, and not guaranteed process. (More on this later)

So, we’ve came up with an idea that will keep the event happening Sunday at the beautiful yard at the OG grounded that still adheres to the ludicrous zone regulations..

Introducing to you: Silent Convergence

What does this mean?! No music? Hell no. Silent disco will be making its way to convergence! Community members who wish to listen to music can put on headphones that will be connected to the music that the DJ’s will be playing. No amplified music, no big deal..playing it by the book.

Music is a big part of convergence and having artists express themselves freely and properly, as well as the community being able to enjoy the music at its full capacity is very important. So, we are working on plans for future events to make sure we can make this happen.

This is going to cost additional resources, but it is completely worth it to keep this thing going! On Sunday, we will be partnering with @arabesqueworlddance and @thenestlex taking donations for women and child clothing, food, and hygiene products. You can also donate money to help offset costs associated with throwing these community events. if you feel called to do so (we love doing these events and we love our community) thank you @srsly_why and @heathermdaniels for staying optimistic and being quick to figuring out a solution that abides by the rules and also gives the community a deserving experience.

Like, comment, and share this post to help spread the word of this update! Other wise, everything else will be happening according to plan and we can’t wait to have yall out in the yard Sunday :) taken in Grounded All Day Cafe by @nookthecollective

One year of converging together is actually crazy!

We want to give thanks and show love to all of our homes, teachers, artists, creatives, and healers that have contributed their talents, skills, and spaces to the community over the past year.

It has been an imperfect but beautiful journey that we think reflects the more realistic human and community experience: just showing up, figuring out things as you go, trying new things, working through feelings of self-doubt and awkwardness… through the discomfort we get the chance to connect, learn and grow more deeply together. Thank you for being apart of the process with us 🌀

We’re going to do our best to tag everyone here, so once we max out on tags we will post to the comments. We encourage everyone to give these folk a follow and support their journeys with convergence and beyond!

We love welcoming new friends into the collective, so if you or somebody you know that would want to be apart of the next year of Convergence, please tag them below or send us a message!

Amongst other things, we will be cooking up a Google survey and potentially a small gathering to hear from our community and reflect on the past year; what has went well, what can be improved, and what we can add to the experience and intention of convergence to make it more socially inclusive, sensitive, and functional.

Thank you for one year 👊❤️ taken in Lexington, Kentucky by @nookthecollective

So happy to finally share some moments from Summer Convergence!! This is just a small glimpse into the hot day we spent outside together moving, creating, and connecting. If you missed out, don’t worry, we’ll be back in the fall with some (hopefully) cooler temperatures and spooky vibes 👻

We are always so thankful for the new faces that find their way to convergence, and the ones that continue to show up; whether that is through your hosting, teaching, creating, playing, or attendance, we are grateful!!

What makes convergence special is the familiarity of the people who are apart of these events, while also welcoming in new faces each and every gathering. Our intention is to be the meeting point where this can be a place to foster a sense of belonging and community to people as they get to create, move, heal, and build new relationships, and find other smaller communities to explore.

We will post more photo’s as they come (please send in anything from summer convergence) and be on the look out for our fall convergence date :)

THANK YOU! 🌀❤️ taken in Grounded All Day Cafe by @nookthecollective

Grateful for all of you who came to the table to share space, play, make art, and connect with yourself and others at Convergence in #Lexington, Kentucky. Huge shout-out to the Quilt Museum, which is a great tradition and inspiration right here in Kentucky. @nationalquiltmuseum

It takes courage and vulnerability to play and make art with a variety of materials. This workshop is that each of us have a story and have a patchwork "Square", and that we are all interconnected (like a Patch Quilt)! So many folks said it was fun, calming, and they liked being able to talk and connect with others. That's #CreativeHealthKy when we can get together and use a variety of art media. It's an ongoing reminder there is no right or wrong way to make art, except whatever feels safe and comfortable to you!

Many thanks to @nookthecollective and @srsly_why for coordinating! Special thanks to @groundedalldaycafe for hosting and allowing us to use your space. Also thanks to other coordinators, vendors, and folks who came share your story, creativity, merchandise, or share help! Looking at you @cheriedawnhaas and @foliosportfolio_ and @monchericreations23

✨ Dates open for community workshops.
✨ Art Therapy is available at @ckc_therapies
✨ Neurodivergent affirming, Trauma informed, and Strength-based
✨** Social Media is for information only.
