Founded in 2023 as an extension of @insightmusicuk, Noon Records specialises in the release of alternative rock, dream pop, and shoegaze | SHF, UK

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My story starts in the mid-2000s — a drummer chasing the dream. From dark, sweat-soaked rooms at Corporation to the main stage at The Leadmill, I cut my teeth in Sheffield’s alt scene. We were a young band without a manager, doing everything ourselves, but like so many, we struggled to break through.

Years later, after studying music and moving into the world of digital, I found myself drawn back to that same passion — helping emerging artists who just need someone in their corner. That’s the heart behind Noon Records.

Noon Records was born from a growing love for raw, honest sound. Heavily inspired by dream pop, shoegaze and grunge, I launched the label to spotlight emerging bands whose music captures the unfiltered emotion and energy of alternative rock.

Noon kicked off in late 2023 and already we’ve connected with rising talent from across the Baltic – from Helsinki to Tallinn – a region rarely represented by UK labels. I’ve always been passionate about supporting bands on tour too – it’s where everything comes together. Live music, energy, fans, connection. That’s the heart of what we’re about.

Thanks for being here. It means a lot. taken in Sheffield, UK by @noon.records

Noon Records is delighted to welcome @planetariet, a six-piece post-rock collective based in Umeå, Sweden, to the family.

With a sound that moves between expansive post-rock, hazy shoegaze and atmospheric electronica, the band bring a rich, cinematic approach to songwriting, shaped by over a decade of musical experience.

Recorded live at the renowned Atlantis Studios in Stockholm, their forthcoming album, Jorden, embraces the imperfections and unpredictable character of analogue recording.

Antique equipment, tape saturation and the natural noise of the recording process become integral to the album's atmosphere, lending its expansive arrangements a tangible sense of age, fragility and permanence. The result feels both timeless and contemporary, capturing a band bringing a long-standing creative vision to its natural conclusion.

Thank you to Melina Hägglund and Linus Anderback for the lovely photographs.

Welcome to the family, Planetariet.

RED RED SUN is a four-piece band from Gdańsk, Poland blending dream pop and shoegaze. There’s something that reminds me of Sinéad O’Connor in lead vocalist Hanna Went’s style - strong and confident delivering even the most vulnerable and fragile emotions.

@red.red.sun.band has just released their debut album Just for a Goodbye on @noon.records.

In this Q+A guitarists Hanna and Paweł discuss how they made an album before forming the band and how they convey sense of place through music. You’ll also get the story behind one of the album’s most atmospheric tracks and learn about the band’s influences, other music projects and what they’re planning for 2027.

Tone Deaf Pick of the Day: Velveteen “My Dreams Are Changing” LP - Absolutely top-notch shoegaze from this London quartet, just released and as far as we can tell we are the only shop in the US carrying this. These guys throw down some absolutely dreamy and ethereal tone bending shoegaze. The production is stunning and the guitars jump out in all their shimmering glory. It’s a beautiful album and we are stoked to be carrying it. You know how much we love our shoegaze at Tone Deaf so if we are endorsing the hell out of this then you know it’s special. This was released by the UK label Noon Records who just shipped us a package of all their vinyl releases, a bunch of excellent dreamy pop that we just put out on our shelves. Come by and check it out! @noon.records taken in Tone Deaf Records by @noon.records

After a few months of sharing singles with you, I'm thrilled to announce that the new 9-track LP, Dreamless Water, from Dutch studio artist @funusbandofficial has finally arrived on all streaming and download platforms, as well as 12" record and CD!

Founded in 2006 by Dutch multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Ruben Vermeulen, Funus blends shoegaze, doom and post-metal into dark, atmospheric soundscapes rooted in introspection and personal reflection.

Mastered by Ivo at @statinski_mastering, Dreamless Water is a staggering 9-track descent into absolute shadow, pushing the project's sound into darker and more immersive territory.

Rooted in an early-'90s-inspired production, moments of fragile introspection collide with crushing walls of guitar, all wrapped in dense layers of reverb and chorus. The result is a slow-burning wall of sound built for fans of bleak, claustrophobic atmosphere.

If you're looking for something a little heavier, something heavily inspired by the darker, atmospheric side of shoegaze and metal, I'm sure you'll really enjoy this one.

Physical formats available via Bandcamp, Rough Trade, assai Records, Juno and many more.
