Shoegazers, @funusbandofficial debut LP 'Dreamless Water' is back in stock, now reaching North America through Chicago's @tonedeafrecs

Originally out on the label @noon.records, the album is pressed on heavyweight black-blue transparent marble vinyl with 4-colour centre labels. Tone Def Records has picked up Noon's 12" catalogue for North American distribution, so this is a proper domestic restock rather than another import run. Funus work in that space where post metal and shoegaze overlap, dense and heavy but still built around atmosphere.

This restock is part of Tone Def taking on Noon Records' full 12" catalogue for North American distribution, so expect more of the label's titles to turn up stateside going forward.

Tracklist:
1. Dreamless Water
2. Still Circling Downwards
3. Between Futures and Shadows
4. Caged Liberty
5. Hum of Nothing
6. Neon Loneliness
7. Fractured Calm
8. Where the Heart Sleeps
9. Across the Bridge of Echoes

RED RED SUN is a four-piece band from Gdańsk, Poland blending dream pop and shoegaze. There’s something that reminds me of Sinéad O’Connor in lead vocalist Hanna Went’s style - strong and confident delivering even the most vulnerable and fragile emotions.

@red.red.sun.band has just released their debut album Just for a Goodbye on @noon.records.

In this Q+A guitarists Hanna and Paweł discuss how they made an album before forming the band and how they convey sense of place through music. You’ll also get the story behind one of the album’s most atmospheric tracks and learn about the band’s influences, other music projects and what they’re planning for 2027.

Tone Deaf Pick of the Day: Velveteen “My Dreams Are Changing” LP - Absolutely top-notch shoegaze from this London quartet, just released and as far as we can tell we are the only shop in the US carrying this. These guys throw down some absolutely dreamy and ethereal tone bending shoegaze. The production is stunning and the guitars jump out in all their shimmering glory. It’s a beautiful album and we are stoked to be carrying it. You know how much we love our shoegaze at Tone Deaf so if we are endorsing the hell out of this then you know it’s special. This was released by the UK label Noon Records who just shipped us a package of all their vinyl releases, a bunch of excellent dreamy pop that we just put out on our shelves. Come by and check it out! @noon.records

FUNUS — Dreamless Waters 🌑🌊

(Heavy Shoegaze / Atmospheric Doom / Post-Metal)

Ruben Vermeulen’s Dreamless Water feels like an isolated, engulfing plunge into extreme shifting and post-metal depth. Starting off with the fragile, softly hypnotic unplugged picking of “Everywhere,” the record suddenly shatters into a colossal wave of sound where modulated chorus bleeds right into scorched overdrive and a low, resonant hum.

Vermeulen nails that balance between quiet, personal moments and punishing waves of guitar, pulling out a strange, lonely elegance from all the ethereal mist and static. The huge dynamic shifts turn swirling echoes and relentless noise into unmitigated sentiment power. A luminous abyss!

Heavy shoegaze meets post-metal/blackgaze in the form of a crushing, melancholic new album by @funusbandofficial
Expect dense walls of sound, reverb-drenched guitar sounds, slow-burning doom riffs, and fragile atmospheres.
Ruben, congratulations on a brilliant release and awesome work by @noon.records for getting a beautifully presented record out there! It was great to chat with you both the other night 🖤
