I’ve been thinking a lot about inspiration lately. Where it comes from, when it becomes creative obsession, and what happens when that obsession turns into something we can actually build from.

In this piece, I look at inspiration through four different lenses: the natural world, a fictional character, the audience, and revolution.

What I’m most curious about is the journey between fascination and what eventually emerges from that fascination.

We shouldn’t always go looking for inspiration. Sometimes it finds us once we start paying attention.

I went to Seoul a few weeks ago to help my cousin move back to the states. It was my first time traveling with family in years and being on a flight with my aunt for the first time in like 17 years!

Korea has such a different culture when it comes to how adults spend time. It’s not just bars and clubs there are karaoke rooms, game cafés, private cinemas, Polaroid photo spots, tea houses, spas… We have these things too, but it’s not really our norm for how we hang or connect.

My favorite thing by far was exploring the tea houses and getting into the rituals of it all. So now I’m like, if you want to hang out with me, invite me to a tea house experience… just saying 🤍

It was such a beautiful and memorable trip. Being able to be there for my cousin and just be present felt really special.

Oh and I did make it into @oliveyoung_global and got my first chemical peel there, for the beauty enthusiasts who want to know :) taken in Seoul, Korea by @noraradd

Happy heavenly birthday to my mom! 18 years without you still feels wild to say out loud.

Grief has so many phases. There’s the crying phase, the angry phase, the numb phase… and then there’s this one I’m in now the “my memories are getting fuzzy and how do I keep the memory alive?” phase.

It’s wild because I’ve officially lived more of my life without my mom than with her. Happy heavenly birthday my love and thank you Facebook for the memory reminders! #libraseason by @noraradd
