It’s actually illegal for your speedometer to show LESS than your real speed. So manufacturers have one option, always show more. And they all do. Every car you’ve ever driven has shown a higher speed than you were actually going. It’s not a bug. It’s built into the law. GPS doesn’t follow those rules. It just shows reality. NordHUD puts that real number on your windshield — free, offline, always accurate. #nordhud #headsupdisplay #speedometer #speed #tesla by @nordhud
Your car’s speedometer almost always reads higher than GPS speed. Here’s why • Manufacturers calibrate speedometers to read high as a safety margin. • Your car measures speed from the wheel drum, so tire size, wear, and pressure all affect the reading. • GPS speed is measured by satellite and reflects your true ground speed. That’s why we made a new feature called GPS offset. To add a small offset so NordHUD matches your car’s speedometer if you prefer that way than accurate GPS speed. #nordhud #appstore #headsupdisplay #appoftheday #app by @nordhud

Your car says 110. Your phone says 106. One of them is lying. 📱 We’ve shown this before, your car’s speedometer has a legal buffer built in. GPS shows your real ground speed. Your Apple Watch shows one speed. Your car shows another. Here’s why. ⌚🚗 We tested NordHUD on Apple Watch alongside the car’s driver display while driving — and just like GPS vs your speedometer, the numbers don’t match. Here’s what causes it: 📏 Manufacturer Safety Offset — Every car is legally programmed to over-read. Your Apple Watch GPS doesn’t follow that rule. It just shows reality 🔄 Tire Size & Calibration — Your car calculates speed based on wheel rotations using your stock tire size. Change tires, add wear, change pressure — the reading shifts. Apple Watch doesn’t care about any of that 👟 Tire Wear — Worn tires have a smaller diameter. More rotations per km. Higher reading on your dash. Your wrist still shows the truth 🌬️ Tire Pressure — Even a few PSI changes your rolling circumference without your ECU knowing 🛰️ **GPS measures actual ground #nordhud #headsupdisplay #applewatch #speedometer #driving by @nordhud

No speedometer tricks, no buffers 🪟 Heads-up display app — NordHUD reflects your speed right onto your windshield. Works on any car ⌚ Apple Watch speedometer — real GPS speed on your wrist while driving, biking or walking No subscription. No trial. No paywall. No tricks. The only things you ever pay for are offline speed limits for your country and extra layouts if you want them. That’s it. Everything else? Yours. Free. Always. Every single drive of your life your car has shown the wrong speed. Not by accident. Not by mistake. On purpose. Your manufacturer legally programs a buffer into your speedometer so you always read slightly higher than reality. Every brand. Every model. Every year. GPS has no such rule. It measures ground truth. See your real speed for the first time 👉 link in bio #nordhud #headsupdisplay #appstore #gps #speedometer by @nordhud
