if im turning in your stomach am i making you feel sick?
(this is just me writing whats on my mind- read or dont lol)
i think thats a confederate flag on the ground in the second picture so i bolted off the property but i wish i couldve explored the buildings more
im kind of larping the southern gothic aesthetic when i have no ties to the american south whatsoever but idk i love it
something about it is so intriguing or provocative i guess, theres something perverse about such a rural area, deep and gothic but at the same time redneck and conservative (see flag)
the world of americana southern gothic appalachia ethel cain feels so raw in its acknowledgement of the deplorable which i find to be, not exactly comforting, but something akin to that - the acceptance(?) of our failings as humans personified as a sort of filth that clings to us all
anyway should i make a substack? sound off below
ps the last slide is on a tiktok edit of david duchovny
