This candle is our ode to Emily Dickinson and her groundbreaking body of work.
✒️
A passionate gardener, Dickinson filled her poetry with flowers, plants, and the natural world.
🥀
Rose, Rosemary, & Lily of the Valley is a soft, natural floral - fresh rather than sweet.
Soft, true-to-life rose is balanced by the greenery of stems and leaves, herbaceous wild rosemary, and the airy freshness of lily of the valley.

We may be too old for the Scholastic Book Fair, but we’re old enough to buy ourselves bookish candles and that feels like a fair trade to me! by @northavecandles

It’s Banned Books Week.
Sigh.

When I launched the Banned Books Collection, book banning was more like, “A school in Connecticut banned To Kill a Mockingbird because it made some lady uncomfortable! Isn’t that craaazy?”

Now it’s far more insidious and harmful, and is a direct assault on authors of color and the LGBTQ+ community.

So I get that this collection is starting to feel… different. Tacky, even.

But it’s my business and quite a large chunk of my business, at least for now. And small businesses aren’t exactly having an easy time right now.

So at the very least, maybe it’ll raise some awareness. Maybe it’ll make some money for the bookstores that sell them. We regularly donate portions of our sales to literacy organizations, mutual aid, and local libraries. Things are getting darker by the day, but I’ve always tried to be a person who adds whatever literal and figurative light I can to the world.

So let’s support our libraries and bookstores. Buy books. Support small businesses. Support each other. And hold on to whatever shred of joy and hope we can get our hands on.

So, here I am, with a heavy and conflicted heart, bringing you some sorta gross promo for candles.
I don’t know.

A whole lotta thought and love and care went into bringing this one to life, and I’m mighty chuffed with the end result. Hope you love him too! by @northavecandles

It might be 80 degrees out, but September will always be autumn in my heart.
Respect to those who enjoy and embrace those last weeks of summer, but it’s pumpkin candle time in my home.

Please enjoy these memes and, if you’re an early autumner like me, please enjoy these candles by @northavecandles
