A quote I came across from @tinnaloaizaofficial that resonates so much with the on going ideas I’m still piecing together for Northbound.

Things are slowly taking shape. Our first free event is happening soon a soft launch and workshop for dance artist’s in the region and it’s already at full capacity. It feels like a lovely way to begin.. taken in Newcastle upon Tyne by @northbounddance_

Across the North East dance scene, there’s a recurring feeling: we’re surviving rather than thriving.

For dancers returning to the region or graduating, finding your feet can feel isolating especially when classes are expensive, auditions and opportunities feel non-existent, and guidance and peer support are hard to access.

Northbound is still in its early stages, but we want to help bridge that gap. And that starts with listening: what do you need, and what would help you move forward?

Whether it’s company class, space to explore ideas, sharing paid opportunities or creating chances to perform, we want to make support more accessible without pages upon pages of applications and build an authentic community along the way.

The North East holds so much knowledge, experience and talent, but it isn’t always reaching the people who need it. How can we change that together?

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be asking for your thoughts, experiences and ideas. We’re also planning a networking party before 2027—a chance to meet, connect and talk about what comes next. taken in Newcastle upon Tyne by @northbounddance_
