Some of you may already know, but I’m starting a new adventure 2027 @northbounddance_

“Across the North East dance scene, there’s a recurring feeling: we’re surviving rather than thriving.

For dancers returning to the region or graduating, finding your feet can feel isolating especially when classes are expensive, auditions and opportunities feel non-existent, and guidance and peer support are hard to access.

Northbound is still in its early stages, but we want to help bridge that gap. And that starts with listening: what do you need, and what would help you move forward?

Whether it’s company class, space to explore ideas, sharing paid opportunities or creating chances to perform, we want to make support more accessible without pages upon pages of applications and build an authentic community along the way.

The North East holds so much knowledge, experience and talent, but it isn’t always reaching the people who need it. How can we change that together?

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be asking for your thoughts, experiences and ideas. We’re also planning a networking party before 2027—a chance to meet, connect and talk about what comes next.”

Any love appreciated.

Art is what we call…the thing an artist does. It’s not the medium or the oil or the price or whether it hangs on a wall or you eat it. What matters, what makes it art, is that the person who made it overcame the resistance, ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. Something risky. Something human. Art is not in the …eye of the beholder. It’s in the soul of the artist.
