Last month, we travelled to Reykjavík to witness the solar eclipse and attend Björk’s Echolalia festival.
As a tribute to our 30 years of friendship, creativity, passion and mutual joy in making art, Kaspïa and I produced this photoshoot at locations in Iceland, including the meadows of Vík and Sólheimajökull glacier.

Thanks to @sydneycraftweek for bringing this to our attention (Morris saw it in the Craft Week booklet and asked to book us in!)
What a satisfying and glorious slow practice of shaping the wood. Then smoothing and coating the spoon for it to be functional.

I just had the opportunity to join @amykennedyceramicartist zoom to kick off @sydneycraftweek
I had these two artworks I painted beside me, depicting the beautiful view from my recent trip to Tasmania for @paperonskin wearable art events.
@thecovetasmania is so much more beautiful in real life but I was so inspired by this unbelievable scenery.
It was so interesting to analyse a collection of artworks today throughout Amy’s workshop.
It was insightful and informative and I have come away feeling energised and excited about continuing my own practices and following the other artists brought to my attention.

A bit of gouache progress 🌸

I’m working on an A3 illustration from a Liberty print image for my students. I usually work more with watercolour, so this has definitely been a challenge.

Gouache is pretty unforgiving (every brushstroke shows) but I’m enjoying working through it and figuring things out as I go!

@fashionthrufilm returns 28th of September with Bill Cunningham New York.

Directed by Richard Press, the documentary follows Bill Cunningham’s distinctive approach to observing fashion.
Taking to the streets on his beloved bicycle, through NYC and documenting the people who inhabit the city.

September’s theme is: “Daily Armor”, everyday dressing as both protection and communication, a way of negotiating identity, status, occupation, belonging and visibility in public life.
Cunningham’s photographs form a timeless record of how dress operates beyond the runway, from the practical language of uniform to highly individual expressions of style.

Hey it’s that time again.. 🍿🎬✨💕
Join us on Monday, August 31 for Pretty in Pink (1986), the next screening at Fashion thru Film @fashionthrufilm
I first saw this film when I was much younger, and one scene in particular stayed with me - Molly Ringwald’s character Andie transforming a second-hand dress into something completely her own for the prom.
🩷💗🩷
I remember a shift in my perception by that moment of reinvention, the idea that clothes could be taken apart, reimagined and given a new life.
That scene became a memorable influence on my own interest in fashion, making and upcycling, and it’s one of the main reasons I wanted to screen Pretty in Pink this month.

It was an honour to meet @james.t.merry in person at the Metamorphlings exhibition currently on @listasafnislands

I’ve admired James collaborations with the incomparable @bjork over the past decade plus years through this instagram portal but to get up close and study his otherworldly creations was an unbelievable pleasure.

Never Far From the Tree is an exhibition of artworks by parents and carers from the Dulwich Hill School of Visual Arts and Design.

My work, Northern Rivers, began as a mixed-media watercolour painting. It was then digitally printed onto 100% linen and transformed into a button-up collared shirt that I designed, cut and sewed for this installation.

The shirt was originally made as a birthday gift for my brother, but I loved it so much I wanted to exhibit it first. My brother lives in the Northern Rivers with his family, and we are regular visitors, so this piece is a tribute.

I’m so proud of Clara for choosing Dully to pursue her passion for art, and it has been such a wonderful bonus to be invited to share my own passion for art, textiles and sustainable fashion alongside this creative community.

It was a joy to see my painting transformed into a digital textile print, thanks to @digitalfabrics in Marrickville.

Thank you to all of the artists exhibiting in the show, it was such a pleasure to meet so many of you at the opening.
