Baltimore ↔ Rotterdam.
Two artists. One exchange.

Nosreme Baltimore is introducing the artists behind our inaugural international residency — @kolpeace (Baltimore) and @naomiking010 King (Rotterdam).

In 2026, Naomi comes to Baltimore for three months. In 2027, kolpeace travels to Rotterdam. Together, they’ll co-create public murals in both cities — work shaped by the communities they’re in, and built in conversation across the Atlantic.

This started with Walk On By — a sister City exchange connecting Black artists from Baltimore and Rotterdam, in partnership with the @baltimorerotterdam Sister City Committee and @artauntie_ . That moment sparked something bigger.

Now we’re building the pipeline.

This isn’t just an exchange. It’s the beginning of a new model — one that connects Baltimore artists to global opportunity, and brings the world back here.

We’re closing the final gap to make this happen.

For @naomiking010, imagination is a place where different worlds meet. 🌀✨

Her work invites us to look a little closer, to notice the stories beneath the surface and imagine what else might be possible.

Drawing from cross-cultural experiences, Naomi King creates work that feels playful, surreal, and full of possibility. Comics, fantasy, and visual storytelling have shaped the way she looks at her surroundings, giving her a way to explore the connections between identity and environment.

Naomi is one of two artists participating in Nosreme’s Baltimore–Rotterdam International Artist Exchange. This exchange brings artists into each other’s communities, creating an opportunity to feel a new place up close, learn from the people and culture that shape it, and let those experiences become part of the creative process.

This exchange is made possible by community support. As a Founder, you can help make these moments possible while investing in the future of Baltimore’s creative culture.

Going viral on Instagram shouldn’t be the ONLY way Baltimore artists get global reach.

That’s why I stepped away from my full-time job as an architect to take @nosremebaltimore global. Right now, I’m in Rotterdam building partnerships, securing resources, and establishing a direct international bridge for our creative community.

New York and Philly aren't the only East Coast cities that deserve global platforms. It's time for the world to know Baltimore's creative talent.

Taking the leap is scary, but Baltimore’s creative future is worth it. 🎨✈️

💬 Drop a 🌉or "BRIDGE" in the comments if you’re backing Baltimore artists on the world stage!

We hear you. And we’re building the infrastructure that makes those projects possible: the credibility, the partnerships, the funding, the systems. Public art takes real work behind the scenes.

If you want to help shape that future, join the Artists Committee.
Applications close October 24.

Bock bock, bockety bock!

Bocking hatched its premiere in Baltimore at @bmorecenterstage, written by @pennedbypreston, directed by @steviewalkerwebb, and produced by @lenawaithe.

It’s sharp, ridiculous, and exactly the kind of new work that reminds us Baltimore is not just watching culture happen somewhere else. We’re launching it here!

Nosreme was born out of MICA’s MPS in Business of Art & Design program, where our executive director, Ariana, was a student. We went back for the reception of Making America Again: So Strong, So Brave, So True.

The exhibition brings together Ford/Philip Morris Foundation Fellows for Artists of Color with artists who came before and after them. The fellowship helped 200 artists of color earn MFAs, and the show includes work by Dawoud Bey, Sanford Biggers, Joyce J. Scott, Jerrell Gibbs, and Amy Sherald.

It’s on view at MICA’s Riggs Gallery through September 29. Catch it before it closes.

For @kolpeace, art is a way of carrying stories forward.

Rooted in Southern history and the experiences that have shaped him, Christopher “Kolpeace” Johnson’s work reflects the people, places, and stories he has witnessed, creating work that connects what we carry from the past with what we leave for the future.

KOLPEACE is one of two artists participating in Nosreme’s Baltimore–Rotterdam International Artist Exchange. Through this experience, artists will step outside what’s familiar to immerse themselves in a new environment, learn from its people and culture, and contribute their own creative perspectives to the space. 🎨🖌️

This exchange is made possible by community support. As a community builder, you can help make space for artists to travel, create, and contribute across communities while investing in the future of Baltimore’s creative culture.

About a year back, we finished our inaugural public art mural. The work we do behind the scenes is ongoing throughout the year. While you might not always notice it, we’re distributing flyers for local events in person, engaging with artists to allow their creativity to flourish, and sometimes neglecting our meals, but the positive impact we create is what truly matters to us! #nosremebaltimore #publicart
