We backed ourselves into the stud game for a few reasons.

1) Being able to produce bull calves like this out of our commercial cows by bulls we have bred ourselves for years now
2) Because we thought others may want some of them too!
3) We are proud as punch of the cattle we produce year in year out and only want to produce more quality cattle

We picked through our 400 breeders at the time & picked the best, got them classified and the rest is history. Purchasing with a different purpose, we secured our first big ticket sires from @truebluedroughtmasters & @needmordroughtmasters

We’ve sold sires up to $10,000 & $9,000, heifers to $5,000 out of both.

It’s been a ride, we dug deeper into investing in our future progeny! $26,000 Hamadra MADDOX & $18,000 Glenlands J EMPIRE.

WOW factor in all departments with these pair, out they went and a couple years later we see the results. Yes that’s a smile from ear to ear to paint a picture!

We venture to the Droughtmaster National Female Sale for our SECOND TIME selling, and what an eye opener! An average of $9750 for our two Maddox heifers & $5,500 for our Empire heifer.

Bull sales to come we are venturing to alot more this year with excitement, nerves & the desire to put our best out there.

Very keen for the tail end of the year, your next sires are loading…

Great results, as we achieved 100% clearance with an $8,333 average, topping at $15,000! Being only our second Droughtmaster National Female Sale we’re extremely proud of the results. All of the time, effort, costs and preparation has paid off.

Thank you to the Droughtmaster National Female Sale committee, GDL - Rockhampton/Mackay team, our buyers and underbidders.

We are thrilled to see all our heifers go to long standing studs, we look forward to what they can do for them in the years to come.

Lot 48 Notable T Kali $15,000 (16 mths) to Vitwood Droughtmaster Stud

Lot 49 Notable Kaahal $4,500 (14 mths) to Talaringa Droughtmasters

Lot 50 Notable Kalila $5,500 (16 mths) to Benbullen Droughtmasters

We purchased Lot 71 Calco Jacaranda. An outstanding heifer, we look forward to seeing what she adds to our team, fitting right in with her bomb proof temperament, sort after stretch & thickness to match.

It was very gratifying to have so many long standing studs personally acknowledge the high quality of stock we are producing and presenting.
We are looking forward to and excited by the opportunity to offer for the first time male progeny of our sire “Hamadra Maddox” later in the year as they are growing exceptionally well.

Paddock sales always welcome.

The National Droughtmaster Bull Sale has kicked off and been strong from the start. We line 8 sires up from lots 342-349 in the schedule but wanted to note these sons of the performing HAMADRA MADDOX selling a heifer earlier this year to $15,000 by him. His consistency kicks through our herd substantially, handy sons hitting the ring this afternoon we think a lot of! taken in Gracemere Sale Yards by @notable.droughtmasters

Greener times not long ago, a new program of Sulphur & Garlic salt blocks from @dicksonagsupplements opened our eyes! To see minimal buffalo fly on the cattle that had access to them. So much so we never needed to get them in, spray with chemical like usual, a half day saved and money usually put into the cows saved in comparison.
1) A few lick blocks that got them quieter from interactions in the paddock
2) slowed the passage of green grass instead of going straight through them
3) Allowing our cattle to do better in these conditions, in more ways then the eye sees👀 taken in South Kolan by @notable.droughtmasters
