CHAPTER 31: GRATEFUL TO BE HERE. 🥂♎️❤️

October 13, 2026. Officially 31 years of life, lessons, blessings, challenges, growth, and becoming.

I genuinely wasn’t planning to celebrate my birthday this year. After experiencing one of the most disappointing birthdays of my life when I turned 30, I entered this new chapter with very few expectations. But GOD had other plans, and so did some incredibly thoughtful people. ❤️

To EVERYONE who called, texted, sent birthday wishes, sent money, gave gifts, showed up, made time for me, or simply went out of their way to make sure I felt loved and celebrated: THANK YOU. You have no idea how much your kindness, generosity, and consideration meant to me.

Yesterday’s disappointments didn’t prevent today’s blessings. This birthday reminded me that I am loved, appreciated, valued, and fortunate to have people in my life who genuinely want to see me happy.

Was everything perfect? Absolutely not. But was I grateful for every moment? Absolutely.

And to the server who told me I looked 17 when I said I was turning 31… YOU DESERVE A RAISE! 😂❤️

I’m entering this chapter more intentional about who I am, what I allow, how I love, how I treat others, and the man I’m becoming. I’m still learning. Still healing. Still evolving. Still making mistakes and correcting them. Still discovering what it means to become a better human being, a better individual, and a better Black man.

I don’t have everything I want in life, but today reminded me that I already have things money cannot buy.

To everyone who made October 13th special: thank you for giving me memories that I’ll carry into the years ahead. I hope the love and kindness you showed me find their way back to you many times over.

31 years down, and by God’s grace, so much more life, love, wisdom, purpose, and opportunity ahead.

I’m not who I was. I’m not yet everything I’ll become. But I’m grateful to be here, and I’m proud that I haven’t given up on becoming better.

Here’s to Chapter 31. 🥂

There is an individual who has learned that life rarely happens in the order we imagine.

They have experienced uncertainty, setbacks, financial pressure, complicated relationships, changing plans, and moments where the next step was not obvious. Yet somehow, they kept moving.

Not because everything was figured out.

Because they understood that a difficult chapter is not the entire story.

Along the way, they discovered that growth can be quiet. Sometimes it looks like starting over. Sometimes it means protecting a dream, choosing peace, learning from mistakes, or simply waking up and deciding to try again.

They also learned that everyone is carrying something.

The person smiling beside you may be rebuilding. The person who seems distant may be fighting a battle you cannot see. The person who appears successful may still be searching for something meaningful.

So be kind.

Be patient.

Keep going.

There is something waiting at the end of every journey we experience in life. Maybe it is not exactly what we imagined. Maybe it is understanding. Maybe it is peace. Maybe it is becoming someone we are finally proud to know.

Whatever it is, the journey matters.

Every step, every loss, every lesson, every unexpected blessing becomes part of the story.

And if you’re reading this while you’re somewhere between where you started and where you hope to be, remember this:

You are not finished.

Better days can exist alongside difficult ones. Good things can still happen. New opportunities can still appear. Life can surprise you in ways you could never have planned.

Keep looking forward.

No matter how long it takes, there is more ahead and sometimes best chapter is the one you never expected.
